The tidy little San Franciso imprint, Dream Chimney, hosts a charming collection of lo fi fusion cuts from Parisian artist, Sim Fossil.

Entitled ‘Tidal Figures’, the EP spreads out across 4 original tracks with remixes by Balearic luminary Max Essa and Project Sandro. This EP showcases Sim Fossil's deft ability to weave a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking, electronic yet gently fluid. It’s a deep dive into synth heavy melodies, hazy cosmic clouds, and echoing basslines.

Italo Deviance (real name Marcello Giordani) began his artistic journey in the 1990s in Italy, during the height of the House Music phenomenon. He was an avid attendee of record fairs, always on the hunt for USA-style Disco vinyl, amassing an extensive collection. He also performed at some of Italy's best parties, such as Cocoricò, Echoes, Matis, Kinki and more.

In the early 2000s, he developed a passion for and began collecting Italo Disco vinyl, often for just a few cents. In 2008, he founded a blog called Italo Deviance with the mission of promoting the most obscure tracks and versions of early 1980s Italian dance music.

From 2011 to 2023, he became part of the duo Marvin & Guy, which has since evolved into Circle Point Circle. At the start of 2024, Marcello resumed work on his label, Italo Deviance Music, embarking on a rebranding effort. This new phase explores underground electronic music without sticking to a specific genre, discovering and producing talented artists in both digital and vinyl formats. He places no particular emphasis on their social media hype, focusing solely on the music.

This philosophy gave rise to the motto: "Italo Deviance, where only the music matters."

The Hardway Bros went outre-mer, To seek Mamman Brigitte so fair,
With pockets full of tree frog songs, And voodoo drums and silken thongs.

They sailed beyond the infinite sky, Where Mari Galante’s beauties lie,
Through heat and rain and humid air, They combed the island everywhere.

“Oh Mamman Brigitte!” came their cry, “We’ve brought you frogs that never die!
They sing at night, they sing at noon, They sing beneath the heavy moon!”

But she just laughed a laugh so wide, And vanished with the turning tide,
And left the Bros to stand and stare, At sea and sky and humid air.

Now Hardway Bros play cards with frogs, And sleep on very uncomfortable logs,
While somewhere near the outre-mer, Mamman Brigitte is drinking beer.

The latest Hardway Bros EP is a result of some recent downtime in Mari Galante:

“I recently enjoyed a rare holiday on Mari Galante in the french caribbean – a place of incredible beauty, infinite sky and sea. It’s a veritable assault on the senses, heat, humidity, sun and rain, soundtracked by a million tree frogs. Strong voodoo vibes. Herewith an audio postcard from the real Outre-Mer…”

Raised in London, DJ Caspa has been playing records since the late 80's and his vinyl collection reflects decades of dance music. He has worked with many of London's leading pirate stations including Pressure FM, Magic FM, and Rinse FM before it was granted licensing, and is considered as a true veteran of the underground, championing new producers such as Applebottom and Liam Geddes. 

We're really excited to welcome him on this mix blending lots of recent Deep-House cuts and uncovered experimentations and jazzy House gems from the likes of Imyrmind, Max Graef, Glenn Astro, Fouk and many more.
