Up next on the Westival Selects Series, we've got 75 minutes of mixed goodness from Liverpool's finest, Ross Robertson. 

Ross' most recent debut saw huge success when released on Hyde Records, with it later getting a reissue on Lobster Theremin, all in the space of six months. With support from Moodymann & Laurent Garnier, this comes as no surprise after featuring on line ups with the likes of MCDE, Groove Armada & Nightmares on Wax. Ross plays in The Garden at Westival this summer, and if this mix is anything to go by, it'll be a set not to miss. 

"This was by far the most fun I’ve had recording a mix. I usually spend ages planning them which means, by the time they’re out, I’m not really a fan anymore! I didn’t want that to happen with my Westival set, so I grabbed a beer and just winged it, whilst my housemates danced around the kitchen. I’m really happy with how it’s turned out and I hope you like it too! Lotsa grooves & lotsa sunshine."

The EP opens with ‘Still Get You’, a driving track layered with shuffling percussion and zipping synths that build an infectious, dancefloor-ready feel. ‘Jam To The Beat’ shifts gears with a punchy, rhythm-focused approach, balancing rolling drums, hazy chords, and heavy low-ends, while ‘I Like It’ closes the EP with vibrant, upbeat energy, combining another infectious bassline and hooky samples and motifs throughout to deliver a cut crafted for the late hours.

It's a UK thing! The London-based DJ and producer Rotty @rottyb has already been featured on Electrocorp when he released his "Secret" track on 124 Recordings. Since then, we saw him releasing his works on labels such as La Vie En Rose (Terrence:Terry), Pathway Traxx and Music Related. 

He is now landing his music on Buslife Records @bus-life-1 the Oxfordshire-based label ran by Lee Jones aka Country Gents, a long-time runner of the UK club scene, influenced by the golden era of the first raves.

With "The Prize", Rotty again offers a beautiful and powerful sampled-based Deep House track with a touch of Disco. On the remix duty, Country Gents and Ed The Spread are doing a perfect job by twisting the original track while keeping the original vibe.
