There's nothing but years and light years of space between us and the frozen dream of Aldebaran.
The Kepler telescope peered at 42,000 stars, examining just a slice of our galaxy to see how many planets like Earth are out there. 
There are about 200 billion stars in our galaxy, with 40 billion of them like our Sun.
Based on the 1-in-5 estimate, the closest Earth-size planet that is in the habitable temperature zone and circles a sun-like star is probably within 70 trillion miles (11 light years) of Earth.
And the 8.8 billion Earth-size planets figure is only a start... to something exceptional.

Music For Whales - Oneohtrix Point Never

Music for Whales, an ambient radio transmission. The longest and most beautiful musical journey of the year. 

We have mixed, in an obscene set given its length, all the tracks that have been aired in 2024 on the radio show "Música para Ballenas", a programme where the best releases of the genre are highlighted and commented (in Spanish) on a monthly basis. Each of the tracks is a gateway to their full experience: their complete album. There are 130 tracks referring to as many albums. SoundCloud doesn't let us show so much text so the tracklist will be displayed in the comments or in a more visual way in this IG post: (under construction)

We recommend five different modes of listening: 

-Analytically, by intellectualising the mixes and looking at the musicians who create the music. As the playback progresses, you will see in the comments the track id and a link to bandcamp where you can find the complete album and support the artist if you consider it appropriate. They are mixed in chronological order of release so you can look back over the months that have completed this 2024.

-As a soundtrack to your routines, meetings and conversations. . Press play and leave it on in the background for a meeting with your people, at work, or on a trip. Let the best tracks of the year comb your routine in the background. It is music that does not interfere in an explicit way in the environment, but in a latently modulating way; it inspires to bring out the best prose of the conversationalists and the best walk of the walkers. 

-By looking at the track list you can go directly to the artist that catches your attention, listen to their track and expand your enjoyment by going to their full album.

-Press play in shuffle mode anywhere in the set and let yourself go for about 50-60 minutes, just like a normal session. Promised that you will love the mixes and the plot that forms the succession of tracks. 

-Don't listen to it. Just go to the comments and go straight to the LPs, there's some great music coming out this year, every year is better than the last.

Tren Rezno is the new album by Blusher, named after the lead singer of Nin Inc Nai's. Aside from the reference to the Industrial legend many of the tracks could easily fit onto on one of Brian Eno's ambient projects or one of the more melodic offerings from Harry Partch. 
Made between the two gorgeous cities of Amsterdam and Dublin, PAy Up harks to those Chicago sounds while sounding quite experimental with a vocal snippet which hypnotises quite nicely while keeping those feet moving.
It's unusual to find a club banger nestled deep inside an ambient album but that is absolutely nothing to complain about. This track is playful, weird, hissy and full of beans. If this is your bag, PAy up!
