Originally from Galicia, Alicia Carrera is a visual artist, founder of the @liopress platform and co-founder of the @magacircemusica label with @donato-dozzy.

Constantly exploring new sounds, her sets always depart from the commonplace to recreate movement and evoke a sense of travel. Because when it comes to self-emancipation, the first thing to do is to allow yourself to be transported through your senses.

This month marks the third anniversary of Bright Patterns. Oliver Chapoy aka The Spiral aka Certain Creatures aka that dude from Shai Hulud aka one of the best humans joins me for this birthday celebration, where we dug into our shared love for organic instruments. Expect guitars, pianos, vocals, and a pile of percussion. Years ago, Oliver was the one who told me “You’ll never be ready, you just gotta do it” the first time he asked me to play on The Lot. I’m honored to share this show with the friend who gave me the push I needed. Look where we are now!

Meakusma presents a live improv set by U.K.-based pianist, composer, producer, sound designer, multi-instrumentalist and educator Dan Nicholls. 

Dan will be performing live at the Weekender festival in Sankt Vith, Belgium, solo as well as with the Clay Kin project (together with Julian Sartorius and Lou Zon). His music exists at the crossroads of jazz, ambient electronica, vanguard classical music and experimental abstraction. He is a member of Goldie's and Squarepusher's touring bands and has performed with vocalist Maja Ratkje and trumpeter Arve Henriksen, to name but a few.
