"This mix contains several of my current favorite minimal and techno records and also several classic gems of the genre.

For personal reasons, it was recorded at night, with the volume low on the speakers, which complicated the process a bit. It's not my most technically perfect session, but, on the other hand, the situation forced me to make a kind of blend and speech without stridency and this has built a very interesting sleepy atmosphere.

It's the music I could play nowadays at an after hour club and the way I would play it."

I really like that when I listen to music, when I close my eyes and concentrate on the sound, I get the feeling that various things, such as sound particles and waves, are entering me. It feels very comfortable as it feels like you are facing your own feelings. 

Knowing who you really are is very important, and it's almost like a theme in life. When I make music or play a DJset, I want to help people relax and take time with themselves."

Muzan Editions is honored to welcome SBat once more to our growing collection of mixes and sets by friends near and far. For this installment, we present SBat's ambient set at the wonderful Liminal Dreams party in Tokyo (2023.12.10). SBat conjures up a shimmering dreamscape of sounds that warps seamlessly between genre and mood, guiding the listener through nostalgic rememberances, glistening electronic futures, and hazy mirages that elude categorization. We recommend getting very comfortable and organizing some proper listening conditions before drifting off (and drifting deep) into this one.

We'd like to thank the Liminal Dreams crew for signing off on our use of Sbat's set. LD has a special place in the hearts of us here at Muzan. Not only are they an integral part of the flourishing ambient scene in Tokyo, but were kind enough to invite Endurance to their very first event - and Dérive to their latest party last month! Their lineups are always incredible, with past special guests including artists like Sunju Hargun, Chris SSG, Sapphire Slows, and Jane Fitz - just to name a few. For this mix, he's going under the radar with craftily woven  groovy prog and dark trance tribalings.
