The days are getting colder, pushing through the year 
We gaze out of our windows, praying the rain will disappear 
It’s feeling so much colder. 
It’s so much colder this year. 

The days are getting shorter – light creeps in, then out of here 
We spend each waking moment seeking warmth and comfort where 
There’s only rain and windswept hours. It’s so much colder this year. 

Just as the sun tires, so do I. 
We all need time to hide. 
So I don’t mind the rain now and then. 
It gives me time to start over again. 

The late nights; so much earlier. 
One last cigarette in the rain. 
A tired goodnight spoken. 
Dim the lights on our fears and our shame. 
We’re all a little older, and it’s so much colder this year.
