The importance of video game samples and 8-bit sounds in grime is well-established. We won't list all the tracks and mixes that pay homage to the sound, instead we'll look forward with this newness from Dexplicit. On new cut "Metroid" (out Mar. 4 on Terror Danjah's rejuvenated Hardrive label), DXP makes overt references to the retro classic video game of the same name, whilst channeling the spirit of it with primitive bleeps and a bouncy-as-hell beat. Expect to hear your favourite MCs jump all over this one very, very soon.

This week we welcome a true selector into the mix for i-D. Anna Wall is the London based DJ who is a real stalwart of the city’s house and techno scene. Having laid her foundations within the scene, Anna is now ready with her new label The Bricks which will see its first release in April with a release from new producer Corbi. This June, Anna will make her debut at Bulgaria’s picturesque Meadows In The Mountains Festival, a festival that she has been working to put together. To celebrate she's given us this dubplate filled mix packed with tunes from artists on the festivals line-up. As we get to know Anna a little better, press play on her i-DJ and discover a mix packed with brand new unreleased tunes. Turn it up!
