Simina Grigoriu bridges the heavy and the melodic realms of techno for her inaugural EP on Kuukou Records. An experienced globetrotter, Simina is known for taking great inspiration from her travels, so it comes as no surprise that the name she’s chosen for her own label, Kuukou stands for “airport” in Japanese. 

Ninja Princess provides an exotic sound exploration, setting off all the elements from the get go. We’re emerged into a vibrant melody with a progressive bassline, taking us from luscious vocals to winding synths within a matter of seconds. Next up on board is Citizen Kain, taking us on a trip to the dark side of the Ninja Princess. Gloomy kicks set a dark trippy atmosphere, while Citizen Kain strips down most of the track’s elements, resulting in a minimal yet mesmerizing approach.

Adapted from their previously published artist album, Milk & Sugar now unveil their "20 Years of Milk & Sugar - Remixed EP".

First up is 'Stay Around' featuring Italy's Alaia & Gallo on the remix, whose edgy grooves are bringing this Milk & Sugar classic properly into the new era of house music, before ‘Has Your Man Got Soul’, the second offering is coming your way as a new version by Croatian duo PEZNT. Shuffling hats and glowing basslines are making these two renditions a wonderful conclusion of Milk & Sugar's 20 Years anniversary celebrations.

‘20 Years Of Milk & Sugar - Remixed’ will be released via Traxsource, Beatport and Streaming on December 1st, 2017. Official release on December 15th.

Michael Klein makes a big impact once again on Cocoon recordings as this runaway train of an EP careers towards a sound system near you. But there’s more to these lessons in slamming techno than first meets the eye. The entire release is awesome in both scope and execution, with a level of sonic precision and controlled aggression that will dominate any dancefloor.

The riotous first cut Medusa jumps straight in with a cascading rush of energy. Searing synths, percolating acid and pounding beats jostle for position like the writhing knot of snakes referenced in the title. My Castle employs a glitchy, filtered intro that makes for a perfect mixing tool. The air is suddenly sucked out as thumping, subsonic 909s and scratchy textures melt the synapses, bringing on a rush of enormous proportions. Klein explores every variant to its logical conclusion, making sure there’s no doubt about who’s king of this castle.

Their Kingdom is an exercise in stuttering, looping techno for the purists. Clean and heavy definitely wins the race here as we’re enveloped in a cavernous breakdown and darkness falls.
Noises rounds things off in a melee of squawking mechanical bleeps and lethal, metallic percussion. A distant melody dares to enter the fray and like the legions of dancers transfixed by Klein‘s vision, it must surrender to the intensity or be swept aside.
