The closing track of the album is a mid-tempo, atmospheric Senegalese future house, featuring vocal elements sampled from a 1972 Sudanese lamentation song. From the balafon/kalimba breakdown, it grows into a more marching, twisted space disco, embellished with shimmering delayed effects and layered with massive rhythmic textures after the drop, deepening the journey until the end of the nearly 8-minute-long track.

ABOUT THE ALBUM:

Chillum's Random Rituals album draws upon various stylistic elements, creating an exotic blend of contemporary electronic grooves, world music and club sounds. Despite this diversity, there is a cohesive character that unifies the tracks. This is due to the fact that it evolved organically from a continuously developing live set over the course of several years. Its style can be described as a fusion of low-tempo organic desert house, tropical acids, deep dubs, hypnotic tribal grooves with psychedelic scene transitions. Just as genres blend, so do eras and cultures. From the jazz-funk of the 70s to the tribal trance of the 90s and the modern deep house, influences span from Peru to Pakistan, from Sudan to Senegal, all united by ancient forms of expression.
