This was a live recording that turned out to probably be the best live recording of me from an event to date. At least that's how I feel about it. The event was called 5th Element and was held in Minneapolis, MN, on April 15th, 2016.

2001 marked the final Even Furthur until last year. When DBN announced they were bringing Even Furthur back in 2016, I was lucky enough to be asked to co-headline, and bring to a close the "White Trash Wrestling" stage, hosted by Milwaukee's very own hardcore crew Speaker Kreatures, and underground legendary rave zine, Massive Magazine. 

Given this, plus 2016 marked 10 years of me playing and promoting Frenchcore this side of the Atlantic, I felt it would be fitting to make that set 2016's Summer Vacation mix.

This mix is also dedicated to Phil Free Art & DJ Tron, who helped pioneer and sustain hardcore in America, especially in Chicago/Midwest. R.I.P.

Elekid - Super Frenchcore World

Since the age of 14, in Chicago (1997), Elekid has turned DJing into a science, mastering the art, and becoming a household name, placing him among some of the top DJs in the harder styles of electronic music in North America. Not limiting himself to just one or two styles, Elekid's wide variety and unique approach to mixing is what makes his sets memorable and loved by many. His methods of engineering sets and being able to execute with extraordinary accuracy is what has made him a sought after DJ. Elekid's breakout from the Midwest happened in 2002, and he hasn't looked back since. Playing from coast to coast, in almost every major city, and on many radio shows and podcasts, Elekid has left crowds demanding more.

In 2004, Elekid started his "Summer Vacation" series, showcasing all that he's capable of, with each one being unique, themed, and entertaining from start to finish. Every year brings a new and different Summer Vacation. One year might be Frenchcore, another Happy Hardcore, or Jumpstyle, another Breaks. These mixes are a part of a vast collection of mix compilations Elekid has released since 1997, which can all be downloaded from his Soundcloud.

In 2005, Elekid took it to the next level and began producing, starting with Hard House. In the years since, Elekid has had several releases and remixes, most notably, "Tekno Drugs", on several different labels. More recently, he has been a heavy backer for Frenchcore in America, and has been pushing the Frenchcore sound.

If it's hard, it's Elekid.
