Back in the Nineties, when MTV was still rising fast here in Europe, Cyndi Lauper was playing in endless loops. And although then my musical tastes were more on the heavier side, I really loved to watch her videos again and again. From all her recordings (then backed by The Hooters) I mostly kept the "Time After Time" in my musical memory. Here we go.

Life's a Gas

My long-time friend and favorite drummer Stefan brought this one to my attention (many thanks for that!): a true classic written by Carol King in the early 70ies. First I didn't think it would fit well with my current selection of cover songs. But then, to my surprise, it worked out well. Result is a down-tempo, moody, in parts bluesy interpretation. Relax and enjoy!

A poppy reggae-ish number from a former band of mine, called Noble Island Lovers (N.I.L.) (1992-1994). The number has been grabbed from a vinyl ep, the band's only production. Some of the others are uploaded as well. Enjoy.

Unfortunately, there aren't too many recordings from our Echo Park Dub Alstars project. The only one decent one we succeeded to make was a digital live recording done at one of our gigs in March 2001. Since the recording was done mainly using room microphones there's a lot of audience talking and screaming on the recordig, as well.
I picked this recording here because audience noise isn't as high as with the others.

Milk

BASS LMNT is a home studio project, but also a band I'm playing with, together with a bunch of long-time friends.

I mostly play bass and guitar, and if I concentrate well enough I find the right keys on a piano. But my main instrument is my voice: I just love singing all day long; chances are I'm also singing in my sleep, but I'm not sure about that. I'm also a member of a classical choir, but that's a different story. 

I love to re-arrange songs, mostly end up with down-tempo variations. In my earlier days I also wrote a few songs of my own back in time when I played Punk and Rock with The Welcome Idiots (https://soundcloud.com/welcomeidiot) but then I decided that others have more talent in that area. Nevertheless, you can find 2 of my songs here. Totally re-arranged and slowed down, of course. 

Currently I collected my songs in 2 playlists "Going Nowhere" (https://soundcloud.com/elem089/sets/going-nowhere) and a 2nd one "All Directions" (https://soundcloud.com/elem089/sets/all-directions). A 3rd list is a collection of songs arranged for the band, to be played live at Munich's repeating SOS ("Same Old Song") event.
