You probably did not know this but I also compose songs and I am tentatively exploring how to manifest these in the context of the Gifts From Crows sound. The first of these is called 'Ancient Mariner', featuring the talented vocalist Bethany Grace. Even more intriguing though is the fact that it is going to be included in a soon to be released film by Phil Strongman.

HONG KONG BLUE is the first feature-length movie within the new 'Found Noir' genre - a genre based on using out-takes, found footage, narration, music and stills to create a compelling tale. Using only a handful of actors - usually just in voice overs - Found Noir takes film back to its original purpose; the direct telling of relevant modern stories. ..'

When I had half of the final composition, I had no idea how to develop it further. I sent a draft to Ramon Capsada Blanch https://soundcloud.com/ramon-capsada-blanch, the composer whom I appreciate very much for his unconventional, creative works. Ramon encouraged me to develop the piece further. One of his ideas was to mirror the first movement in such a way as to reverse the dynamics of the composition. As Ramon predicted, I've got the cresendo-culmination-decrescendo structure. I marked the axis of symmetry with a single sound of a triangle. Thank you Ramon!

Alive Again

'Memento of a Sunset', a nostalgic song twinged with melancholy, has several sub stories but finally resolves positively. The recording for streaming is from a Twitter livestream on 16 Jan. Another version is on One World Music Radio along with ‘Dream of the Wild Rose’ (#7 in Jan), ‘Your Heart Carried Me Home’—all placing on the single charts, top 50 two months in a row.  On Spotify, all streaming platforms, Bandcamp, One World Music Radio.,

The promise of a new tomorrow is eagerly awaited by all.  Nature's beautiful colors paints the sky as a memento that we can say goodbye to our worries, heartbreak, and pain and start afresh again.

This song is part of an LP of 12 songs that I made with Stricknice, Bitzone, and Wou-Wou & The Wormling (and many other friends who you all know on SoundCloud) from a massive set of demo tracks that Wou-Wou graciously passed on to me. Basically, this LP worth of songs was an early pandemic gift cause I had a little extra time on my hands to make music! I was originally going to release all the songs in one long track but one of my muses kept telling me to release this song on its own and I eventually succumbed to her wishes. I am massively grateful for all the work Stricknice, Bitzone, and Wou-Wou put into this big project. There may be more songs from this project that trickle out before the whole set is released. It was super cool to finally work with Bontender on a song. I have been a big fan of his indie rock sound for a long time. Bonetender rocks!!! 

This song goes out to all the loners, weirdoes, freaks, and geeks out there. Who cares what society wants you to be. Be yourself and you just do you! There are plenty of normal people in the world already.
