 ELEPHANTS ON TAPE – detail-loving Independent Pop, combined with live-electronics. Five Elephants, archieving balance on a black tape, mounted on the thin line between danceable, krautesk beats and spherical soundscapes. Lisa Zwinzscher (voc, git), Markus Rom (git, voc, synth), Robert Gemmel (synth, sampler, voc), Lukas Stodollik (bass) und Hans Arnold (drums) found each other in the mutual strive for enormous sounds in both live and studio contexts. The five of them share a common preference for electronic and acoustic mixtures, which is uttered in form of a music that couldn’t be more up-to-date than it is – electronical sounds, created by acoustic instruments. With this concept a unique bandsound was created, whose borders are softened anew on every concert.

Originally hailing from different parts of Bavaria, Aloa INPUT is a Munich-based three-piece comprised of Florian Kreier (vocals/bass, aka Angela Aux), Cico Beck (drums/electronics; aka Joasihno & live member of The Notwist and Ms. John Soda), and Marcus Grassl (guitar/vocals). Founded in January 2011, the band’s eclectic output is known to channel a plethora of different influences from various genres and periods. Often based on experimentation – think Flaming Lips, Animal Collective, Can –, Aloa Input’s sound generally combines the members’ penchant for MASSIVE hooks, multipart vocals and complex beats (in the vein of Anticon). Also inspired by various other projects – apart from making MUSIC for film and theater, some members also work in literature and journalism –, Aloa Input have released their debut album “Anysome” in early 2013, followed by a remix EP (“RMX”) in summer 2014. In march 2015 , they will release their sophomore album “MARS ETC.”: Recorded in a lighthouse on the Croatian island of Krk, they mixed the album in Weilheim (The Notwist studios) with co-producer Olaf Opal. “MARS ETC.” will be released on 06.03.2015 by Morr Music.

Philipp Rumsch, born in 1994, is a composer, pianist, and sound designer based in Leipzig, Germany. Between 2013 and 2020 Philipp Rumsch has studied jazz piano under the aegis of Michael Wollny and Richie Beirach at the Academy of Music and Theatre Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig. In 2016 and 2017 he has refined his sound design and composition capabilities at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen with, among others, Niels-Lyhne Løkkegard, August Rosenbaum and Valgeir Sigurðsson.

Philipp is working both as a pianist, composer and arranger with artists, bands and ensembles from different genres. He has written music for theater and performances. His work is influenced by Avant-pop, electroacoustic, contemporary classical and improvised music. Philipp releases his music on the renowned record label Denovali. In 2018 he received the Leipzig award for young jazz musicians, funded by Marion Ermer foundation (Leipziger Jazznachwuchspreis der Marion-Ermer-Stiftung).

Alien Transistor was founded in 2003 by Markus and Micha Acher from The Notwist.The labels concept is to produce music that has a musical or personal relation to the Notwist- microcosm: From electronic soundscapes through abstract hip-hop to laptop-treated contemporary, from processed oriental music to Nick Drake-inspired-songwriting: Alien Transistor doesn’t respect any musical boundaries.

Fhlaipw - Philipp Rumsch, Arpen, Jörg Wähner and Andi Rueckel present a new audiovisual project that combines voice, sound surfaces and repetitive rhythms with analytical, generative design.

In large forms, the focus on gradual developments and sudden reversals within musical ideas stands ambivalently side by side. Rhythmic elements and beats function less as rigid, steady pulses, but represent evolving structures of various patterns. Arpen's voice is decoupled from the concept of a conventional voice by various alienation, and adds a contrapuntal narrative level to the sound through the usage of text.

The visualization of the auditory results from the processing of the acoustic signals, which are analyzed by a neural network and learned by machine. These artificial impressions generate, manipulate and destroy color and form in digital space.

Lisa Zwinzscher ist freischaffende Sängerin, Sprecherin und Musikproduzentin. Sie studierte an der HfM in Weimar „Improvisierter Gesang“ bei Jeff Cascaro und Michael Schiefel. Sie arbeitet in verschiedenen Genres mit Formationen wie der Neo Gypsy Band Friling, das Jazz Large Ensemlble Lauter schöne Tiere und dem Philipp Rumsch Ensemble.
Neben diversen CD-Veröffentlichungen tourte sie mit mehreren Projekten bereits in ganz Europa. Gemeinsam mit dem Gitarristen des Ensembles, Markus Rom, ist sie Teil der Band ELEPHANTS ON TAPE, die in diesem Jahr ihr zweites Studioalbum veröffentlichen. 2010 erhielt sie den ersten Preis im Bundeswettbewerb Jugend musiziert in der Kategorie Popular Gesang. 2016-2020 unterrichtete sie an der Kreismusikschule Harz in Quedlinburg Gesang und war 2019 Dozentin beim Jugendjazzorchester Sachsen-Anhalt. Seit 2019 arbeitet Lisa Zwinzscher an ihrem Solo-Projekt Pony Pracht, ein multimediales Kunstprojekt mit welchem sie electronische vokalbasierte Tracks mit Videokunst kombiniert.
