one thing that always amazes me about your work is it sounds like a band. like everyone is playing their part, and that really impresses me. i find it hard to arrange that way and you seemingly do not. each part is playing off each other as if its live. really nice work as always

This time - in Jan.23-round of the OneSynthChallenge - one Synth included in the DAW had to be used. Now, MuLab (by Mutools) is an affordable, but (at least for me) musically inspiring DAW with a slim but powerfull composer and including an extremely flexible synth called MUX. It's even possible to include another composer within the synth ....
Now this song is made with MuSynth, which contains synth- and effect-modules of MUX, but no samples at all.
I used 14 instances of MuSynth with some MUX-EQ, compressor, limiter, echo and reverb. Only in the master I used "MHorse P3" and "LoudMax" - both are available for free.

Gazing At Shoes (OSC167 - Reason & Europa)

Made with one instance of Alchemy in Logic, played live for OSC 167. Tried to reproduce the sound i remember playing recitals as a kid in a large hall that was rented out at the time. I used a compressor to ensure no peaks and a channel eq with a gentle shelving cut to remove some low-end flutter I couldn't figure out how to tame with synthesis or Alchemy's built-in EQ. No other plugins. Fun synthesis challenge, combined with a compositional challenge.

For this track I used 17 instances of Subtractor which was the first and only synthesizer in Reason 1.0 back in 2001. 

For reverb and delay I used Reason's DDL-1 and RV7000. For creamy long reverbs I used a free plugin by Airwindows named Galactic 64. On the masterbus I used Channev by Analog Obsession which is a free mastering plugin.
