Since very early age Sean got exposed to many kinds of music, from the traditional son cubano and son jarocho played at family reunions to brazilian music and other rhythms that he listened to in his childhood thanks to his father who had always been a traveler and collector. This edit evokes that feeling. For the third time releasing in Cosmovision Records. Presents Kúdia Kuetu a beautiful song from Bonga & Camélia Jordana. Bonga is arguably the most successful Angolan artist to popularize Semba music internationally, and usually known for his iconic track "Mona Ki Ngi Xica”.

About Bonga :
Bonga is one of Africa’s most inspirational musicians and part of the rare type of artists whose art derives its power from social and political upheaval. This Angolan legend recorded his first albums during his country’s struggle for freedom from Portuguese rule in the early 1970s. He has earned his place along side artists such as Fela Kuti, Thomas Mapfumo and Miriam Makeba as an advocate of the independence of Africa.

Multidisciplinary artist based in Mérida, Mexico. Hailing from the mayan jungle of Dzibilchaltún for the past 6 years, peaceful area near ruins and cenotes where he has found a source of inspiration.  Sean enjoys the slow-life and the perks of living surrounded by nature.  In his music and analog collages he attempts to express his multi cultural vision and reconnect with the past in image and sound, giving a new perspective and interpretation. About this song:
This song is the remix of ‘Agua Viva’, a track by Bushbby, Swuni featuring Kanti Quena on the Quena instrument, originally released by @Movimientos. Bushbby is a Colombian born DJ and promoter behind the London nights ‘Candela Viva’ and  ‘JuntosTogether’.  Swuni is better known as the other half of London-based DJ, promoter and production duo @villagecuts. Kanti Qena is a singer and multi-intrumentalist artist originally from Peru. He is always incredibly active in the London live scene with his Andean-influenced projects: @Lokandes, Sagrada Familia & Los Chinches.

The original track illustrates the wonders of nature through Bushbby’s evocative elemental spoken word, flowing to the backdrop of Swuni’s electronic beat. The song calls upon Andean rhythms and sublime soundscapes of nature to celebrate ‘madre tierra’ and uplift her inhabitants.

The remix keeps quite a lot from the instrumentation of original track but ads new groove and bass elements and a pitch-down vocal to create a version with a bit more intensity and tension.

About @carthnage

Carthnage is the London-based music project by Ahmed Gelby (Cairo, Egypt) and Juan Lopez (Medellin, Colombia). 

Having made a name for themselves in the Global Bass scene with their project @Diezmomusic, they decide in 2018 to start a fresh project focusing on the sounds from the African continent, without restricting or confining themselves to a particular sub-region.
 Cross-border collaboration has been a focal point for Carthnage, shown by vocal features from multi-instrumentalist Giovanni Kiyingi (Uganda) for their debut song ‘Ziwunna’ and Dat García (Argentina) for their latest two tracks ‘Sequía’ and ‘Maghreb’, released on Salgari/LittleBeatMore and Nowadays Records respectively.

The future looks exciting for Carthnage with a forthcoming collaboration with BET nominee Toya Delazy to be released on RebelUp Records alongside remixes by El Peche, Haatah, Waggles and a few other amazing producers.

About this edit :
The original piece was shown to me on a sunny afternoon last summer in Brazil by a very dear friend, who said “dude you gotta remix this song, it’s so beautiful”.
From the admiration I feel for this friend came the inspiration to start the project. The process felt nourishing especially when I was studying the chords since they’re not on the usual 4/4 progression.

The story, by El Extravagante:

This is a very special song, written and recorded in Montréal, our Cosmovision Records city!, it was during the famous ¨bed-in for peace¨  in 1969 by John Lennon and Yoko Ono at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, where also the picture of this cover was taken. 

All my life a big fan of these 2 artists and their peace activism, this song makes me happy and gives me light and hope to know that we are here to make a positive change, despite the circumstances we can always do something and to raise awareness of the importance of peace in the world should always be a priority.

It breaks my heart to see all these wars happening, with music friends being affected and even If maybe I can't do much, I chose to speak up for peace from this little place we have as artists. Please, anywhere you are never forget to speak up for peace, ¨dance for peace, make love for peace¨ and that  ¨Peace is like mantra that we have to repeat over and over¨ J.Lennon.

About this rework
We discovered african music through the “Who is William Onyeabor?” complilation album. We were surprised by this album and started to dig a little bit deeper into Nigerian funk like Orlando Julius and The Funkees. Next, another compilation came to us, Kiki Gyan’s “24 Hours In A Disco 1978-82”, this time from one of Ghana's greats. As with our experience with Onyeabor and Nigeria, this led to the start of a new path into Ghanaian grooves, and at some point we stumbled across this lovely song and we couldn't resist giving it the homage it deserves ❤️

When two DJs, producers and music lovers come together for the same cause, only a dream result can come out like this funky edit with hot Spanish flavor. This union is that of El Extravagante from Santiago, Chile and Bob Marius from Mallorca, Spain, who met to share their knowledge and musical taste reflected in this edit of the song "Tangos del Agujero" by Radio Tarifa from their album "Rumba Argelina" (1993 record label BMG, currently known as like Sony Music). 
Pure Andalusian folklore with oriental Arabic tunes and incursions into flamenco, here remixed with a Dembow beat and original arrangements in clapping and accompanying instrumentation.

Apart from being an artist, Felipe Nadeau, the man behind the character is a culture and arts manager co-directing the beautiful project known as @CosmovisionRecords, spreading love for the new forms of folklore and electronic music from LatinAmerica and all the world. A record label not for the few, but for the many =)
