Those who put their trust in Babylon and continue to strive for the material things of this world will be easily captured, but those who put their faith and trust in the ALMIGHTY will always overcome.

Lustre Kings Productions is excited to announce the "Junction Riddim”, produced by the Zion I Kings. This unique riddim boasts a wide-variety of diverse artists from current to veteran talent, while geographically employing Jamaica, US Virgin Islands, Europe and the USA. The composition is exclusive with the use of live instrumentation interspersed with elements of digital programing, dubstep basslines and hip hop production. Performed live in Jamaica at Tuff Gong Recording studio by the Zion I Kings utilizing the drumming from legendary Roots Radics member, Lincoln “Style” Scott. Zion I Kings is a production trio that has been particularly prolific over the last few years, formed from three notable reggae label heads and audio engineers; Zion High Productions, David Goldfine (bass), I Grade Records, Laurent “Tippy” Alfred (keyboards) and Lustre Kings Productions, Andrew “Moon” Bain (guitar).

The first single on the riddim, "For the Children” a combination with LK feature artist, Jahdan Blakkamoore, teamed with rising star, Kabaka Pyramid, was released last spring to great response worldwide. Some intriguing additions to the riddim are present on the full release; the legendary “Dancehall Don-Dada”, Johnny Osbourne among them! It is rare to see Johnny appear on a new release or any riddim compilation and he delivers his classic reggae styling on “We Steppin’”. Another notable combination is crafted by the brilliant Angela Hunte (Jay-Z, Major Lazer) and Holland’s talented Ziggi Recado on “Crazy is as Crazy Does”. Par for the course from Lustre Kings, the mighty Lutan Fyah comes in strong with his Rastafarian anthem “Up in the Hills” urging his community to depart the ways of Babylon and live a more natural existence. Two other names that bring a fresh energy to the riddim are up and comers, Hempress Sativa on “Still Surviving” and Bobby Hustle on “Chatty Mouth”, both making great use of the track. Other noteworthy names that appear are Pressure Busspipe, Midnite. Lloyd Brown and the ever-articulate Mr. Perfect Giddimani.

For almost two decades, Lustre Kings Productions has become synonymous with modern roots reggae music and fostering burgeoning talent. This independent label has carved a name out for itself grounded in conscious dancehall and reggae music. The “Junction Riddim” delivers on all points, once again pushing the envelope of the genre, introducing fresh faces amongst familiar ones while remaining rooted in live musicianship and forward thinking production that resounds thoughtful, creative and evocative messages.

The tape heads of the Jahtari echo machines have been finetuned, the reverb modules are rewired, the bass implant is set to maximum blast and now the third episode of our ongoing series called “Jahtarian Dubbers” is ready to rock your walkman for a long time to come.

Mikey Murka went up to the dancehall again, John Frum is back with a hauntingly beautiful dub, Maffi team up with Ranking Levy from MyLord Sound while the Jahtari Riddim Force is on the loose, El Fata rinses Tapes‘ smashing “Gold Love Riddim”, disrupt dug out a forgotten treasure from the vault and Rootah runs his tube delays into the red zone.

Wearing the black belt for beatmaking and new in the Jahtari camp is Monkey Marc (who supplied a wicked instrumental to the last Roots Manuva album). Our favourite sound system champions Mungo’s Hifi are about to blow your speakers alongside veteran Jim Nastics, plus there’s a very special Rootah version of a Dub Syndicate / Adrian Sherwood classic – with Lee Perry (!) on the mic, lazergun in hand, straightjacket and all. So better pack enough supplies for an interstellar trip – this one might take a while.

"Débarquant de l’underground à visages masqués, les trois compères de KillaSoundYard reviennent en force avec un nouvel EP de 5 titres toujours plus militants ! En attendant les versions Dub et un vinyle 10″, « Les Bas Fonds » sort le 6 février 2017 chez Root’Zik Production. 

Après la sortie en avril 2015 d’un premier album éponyme remarqué et remarquable, KillaSoundYard (KSY) n’a pas chômé, mettant sa musique libertaire au service de vidéos engagées. Suite à la « Live Dub Session » du titre ‘No War’ (voir la vidéo), on a notamment pu entendre le trio parisien au générique du court-métrage sarcastique « Etat d’Alerte sa mère » de Sebastien Petretti. 

La musique de KillaSoundYard, puisqu’on en parle, est toujours aussi riche d’influences et fait de ce nouvel EP, « Les Bas Fonds » un modèle d’éclectisme et d’ouverture d’esprit. En seulement 5 titres, les compositions de KSY explorent les différentes facettes du Dub et du Reggae, passant ainsi d’un Rockers rythmé à du Stepper profond avec beaucoup d’aisance [...]

Un son pour big up le personnel hospitalier, et tous les travailleurs et travailleuses en première ligne, sans oublier les migrants, les sans domiciles, et les prisonniers en manque total de protection et de soin face au Covid-19.

En ces temps de crise sanitaire, nous rappelons la crise de moyens que traverse l’hôpital public depuis 15 ans suite à la mise en place progressive de politiques néolibérales. Les travailleurs du monde hospitalier alertent depuis de nombreuses années sur la dégradation de la situation tant humaine que matérielle au sein de l’institution. Face à ces alertes les gouvernements successifs n’ont répondu que par la diminution des moyens et l’autonomisation des hôpitaux. Ces directives ont entraîné des conditions de travail de plus en plus dures pour l’ensemble des personnels, une difficulté à maintenir la qualité de service pour les citoyens et une forte augmentation des inégalités d’accès en fonction des territoires. Les événements actuels nous prouvent, s’il le fallait encore, que nous ne pouvons plus accepter la mise en place de ces politiques qui mettent en danger la qualité d’un service aussi essentiel que celui de la santé publique. Les travailleurs hospitaliers démontrent encore aujourd’hui la qualité de leur engagement tant professionnel qu’humain envers toute la société. Nous devons les soutenir par tout les moyens afin d’améliorer leurs conditions de travail et de maintenir un haut niveau de qualité dans nos hôpitaux.

It's the sheer joyousness of El fata's music that hits you first, an impact created by the warm sincerity of his vocals, and a succession of uplifting melodies, conscious lyrics, and blend of musical styles. Born in Lagos Nigeria,he started out as a drummer in his school band, during his teens, he discovered reggae music and turned singer after being inspired by Jamaican acts such as Michael Rose, Don Carlos, Gregory Isaacs, Bob Marley, Cocoa Tea and Dennis Brown. At the age of nineteen, he was fronting a band that toured the country, performing a mix of original material and cover versions. Three years later, in 1996 after their residency at the Lagos Hilton came to an end; he left Nigeria to Cote d’ivoire and embarked on a solo career. It was there he began composing songs in both English and French, and recorded his debut album, The coming of El fata, which appeared in 1999. He and The Living spirit band were a popular draw at festivals and concerts throughout Cote d’ivoire until 2004, when he move to England and chance encounter with left field reggae outfit Bamjimba. Wakeye Wakey, recorded and mixed at the Mad Professor's Ariwa studio,was their first collaboration. El fata has done many releases and continue to work with various producers across the globe.
