Having first featured on Anjunadeep with his remix of the legendary Underworld's "Two Months Off" on Anjunadeep 03, David Khanjian aka DAVI returned with two brilliantly textured deep house offerings on James Grant's "Anjunadeep 05" mix.

Currently building a reputation as one of the hottest talents around with appearances on Damian Lazarus' esteemed Crosstown Rebels label, and performances alongside Richie Hawtin, Guy Gerber and Eats Everything, DAVI displays his coming-of-age form with "The Bay 6 EP". 

The first of his "Anjunadeep 05" offerings is "The Bay 6 (pt. 1)", which begins with an unsuspecting intro and gentle vocal before DAVI's trademark bassline powers through. Elegantly accompanied by swirling atmospherics and subtle pads, the low-end is the foundation of what is a surefire dancefloor winner.

"The Bay 6 (pt. 2)" sees Khanjian twists things inside out, once again building the track around an all-encompassing bassline, partnered with infectious vocal snippets and crisp, chugging percussion.

DAVI's other Anjunadeep 05 contribution, "The Time Has Come ", fuses bass heavy deep house with spacey progressive influences to create a late night groove packed with subtle melodies and a unique moody vibe.

I got the idea for this the track when I watched the movie 'Samsara' ...which I can really recommend. The soundtrack is really good and I sampled the break from it.

Simultaneously with the announcement of our 15th Watergate-Compilation, we are also proud to present the number 15 of our vinyl series.

The man behind the black wax is Mathias Kaden, whose exclusive track now finds its new home in our label catalogue - with "Fin" he literally marked the end of his compilation which was released in this year's summer. The track warms up with an aesthetically-stumbling beat pattern, gathers speed attended by rattling hi-hats and suddenly turns into a smooth piano-break. After this grace period the allround-tool unfolds its full force and tramps down on the dancefloor.

No less a figure than Josh Wink contributed a remix to this bomb. The Ovum-Records boss interpreted "Fin" in his habitual freethinker-attitude as a hypnotic-house track in a totally new context. Dopey bleeps wriggle through the drums and leave woozy traces in the audiences' heads.

"Fin" appears on January 20 on vinyl & digital. The digital EP also contains the exclusive tracks from Rodriguez Jr. and Christian Burkhardt from Mathias Kaden's Watergate 14 compilation.

Noir & Hayze are back with another collaboration after almost 3 years.

As with anthemic 2011 smash ‘Around’, ‘Angel’ sees Noir and Hayze join forces to unique effect, with the pair combining to produce another surefire slice of dance floor gold that sidesteps current trends with confidence.

2012 has been by far the most exciting start to any year in Pig&Dans 10 year strong career. After beginning the year with the much acclaimed release Pollerwiesen on Stephan Bodzins cult label Herzblut, the Dynamic duo once again teamed up with Mark Reeve and produced the techno bombrelease Origami. Soma records launched Origami into the Beatport top 20 and saw the title track just skim the outskirts of the top 10.

Almost immediately after, Pig&Dan released the Beatport top 5 smasher Machines on Bedrock. Looking back, the meeting of minds during a chance encounter of Igor Tchkotoua (Pig) and Dan Duncan on a flight to Spain in 1999, sounds like the opening scene of a Hollywood movie, certainly neither musician could have the written the script of what happened next. Recognizing a mutual philosophy, and using their own musical background that dated back to the start of the dance scene, they combined to create a slick production outfit that would entrance clubbers and DJs alike.

Now some 10+ years further on Soma present Decade! Pig&Dan fly into this release from a lofty position on the electronica scene. Topping numerous charts, DJ polls plus their unique way of performing high-energy DJ sets have brought an unstoppable momentum to the innovative duo. From early incarnations the pairing have become an integral and innovative part of the Techno landscape. Their sounds have for some time now blended a core of depth with recurrent hooks and loops being studded in marvellous style by intricate drum hits and carefully crafted sounds which progress and deepen to formulate really upbeat and euphoric output.

This full-length album release through Soma provides great insight into why the pair has become so visible and important, smoothly shifting between an underground ethos whilst maintaining a synergy with and respect for the audience whose aural enjoyment is of paramount importance to the pair. The quality and diversity displayed on the album means that this 10 year anniversary LP displays perfectly produced sounds with maintained dynamism and intricacy throughout. Such rich depth and innovation enables this album to sit proudly within Somas canon of great releases and the very nature of the intense, all-consuming and potent sound makes this album an essential part of the future direction of Pig&Dan and the wider musical sphere.

Open Records is proud to announce the first of many releases in 2013 from hometown hero and label artist FunkForm, with Comes And Goes. Featuring three all-original tracks from the fast-rising Cairns producer, it’s further proof he’s one of Australia’s most exciting new names in electronic music and sets the stage for his stunning album release later this year.

FunkForm has certainly been off to a cracking start in 2013. His recent release on Vapour Recordings charted in both Tech-House and Techno in Beatport’s Top100 releases, and Fuscia featured in both D-Nox and Luir Junior’s April mixes on Soundcloud. For those more familiar with the deeper side of the FunkForm sound, Comes And Goes might come as a little bit of a shock... lucky it’s a good one!
