Originally from Istanbul, our guest this month, grew up with a love for music, especially music performance. At age 6, she joined the school choir and started singing. Since then, she performed on countless occasions in Turkey, the US, Brazil, Costa Rica and Paraguay. Tuğçe studied voice, jazz vocals, and West-African drumming with percussionist Milford Graves and singer &amp; songwriter Sheila Jordan among others.

Various listeners have remarked that her voice is “ethereal”, “something ancient, calling from the primeval darkness of fairytale.” Tugçe’s musical interests cross genres and continents. She has collaborated as a singer, songwriter, and co-producer with Paraguayan musician & producer Santi on three albums: Cíclico (2014), Songs for Another Day (2015), and El Regreso del Gallito (2016). She has also released four
singles: Istanbul’a (2017), Donde Va (2016), Sevda Çiçeği (2016) and Backflash (2015).

As the founder and curator of the Kybele Project, she develops opportunities for greater collaboration and broader inclusion of artists from around the world.

Unser Podcast Nummer 113 kommt heute von einem Spanier, der mit seinem Hang zur Tiefe, Herzlichkeit und Langsamen schon über die Landesgrenzen bekannt geworden ist.

Die Rede ist von MoM, der schon seit – sage und schreibe - 1989 der elektronischen Musik treu geblieben ist. Anfangs eher dem Acid House und Disco-Funk verfallen, eröffnete sich ihm mit den Releases des spanischen Labels „WORKS“ eine neue Stilrichtung der er bis heute treu geblieben ist: Deep House. In den nachfolgenden Jahren arbeitete er als Record-Store-Manager im Madrider 'Pep's Records'. Darüber hinaus gründete er den 'Submarine' Club in Cordoba, welcher mehrere Jahre bestand. Für spanische Verhältnisse keine Normalität. Schließlich spielt elektronische Musik dort standesgemäß eine untergeordnete Rolle. 

Seinen richtigen Durchbruch hatte MoM mit seinem Mix „Home“ im Jahre 2015, welcher auf Akumandra veröffentlicht wurde. Neben einer wahnsinnigen Stimmung, trägt das Set einige Remixe und Edits von Ihm, welche für internationales Aufsehen sorgten. Unter anderem wanderten einige Edits von Ihm in die Plattenkisten von Acid Pauli, Rampue, Goldcap und vielen weiteren bekannten Künstler. Der erfolgreichste Edit ist bis heute „Nicolas Jaar’s-And I Say”, der 2016 sogar in den Top Ten von “Sweet Melodic” landete. 
Alles was danach geschah verlief rasend schnell...

Seit Anfang an widmete er sich zwar den niedrigeren BPM Zahlen, doch seinen größte Transformation mit dem Hang zum Spirituellen steht im engen Zusammenhang mit seinem Umzug nach Cadiz. Sein Wunsch auch eigene Produktionen realisieren zu können nahm dort tatsächlich seinen Anfang. Zusammen mit Jose Carlos Akal, dem Bandmitglied der Band “https://soundcloud.com/holedcoin”  gründeten beide das Live- und Produktionsduo 'Holed of MoM'. Neben zwei Remixen für “Underyourskin Records” und “Aa/ZZK Records”, spielten beide schon Live in Berlin. 
In diesem Jahr ist auch eine eigene EP geplant, welche auf „Heimlich“ und „Tropical Twista“ veröffentlicht wird.  Ein durch und durch spannendes Projekt, welches man auf dem Schirm haben sollte.

Sein für uns eingespielter Mix ist eine schöne Reise durch die Weiten langsamer elektronischer Musik. Anfangs eher düster und melancholischer, steigert sich das Set sowohl im Groove, als auch in der Energie. Darüber hinaus lässt er in den zwei Stunden auch mal die Sonne in Form von melodischen Parts durchblicken. Eine herrliche Mischung wie ich finde. Dazu technisch und stilistisch stimmig fein abgemischt. Aber dies muss bei Ihm nicht mehr betont werden.

Musik, die wie gemalt ist für eine perfekte Afterhour.

Wir sind unglaublich froh dass wir Luis für unsere Reihe gewinnen konnten. Wir danken dir von Herzen für dieses bewusstseinserweiternde Set.

Nun aber genug der Worte.

Bei diesem Wintereinbruch kommt eine ganz starke Podcast-Brise aus dem hohen Norden um die Ecke gepfiffen. Heute haben wir Thomas Atzmann aus Hamburg zu Gast bei sound(ge)cloud.

Mir haben es ja seine Sets und Podcast ganz besonders angetan … da sie immer so unscheinbar erscheinen und es doch so verdammt in sich haben – Understatement in Reinform. Doch gerade auch als Produzent hat sich Thomas einen ganz schönen Namen gemacht unter anderem für Audiolith, Underyourskin und grade den Remix für Harald Kindseht & Magnus fand ich ziemlich chic. Man darf gespannt sein was im Laufe des Jahres von ihm noch so alles kommt … mehr wird nicht verraten. 

Für sound(ge)cloud ist er das ganze mal ganz spontan angegangen und hat uns ein schönes verspultes Afterhour Set gebastelt.
 
„Ich habe ganz viele neue Sachen von Freunden bekommen, die entweder ganz frisch oder noch gar nicht raus sind... Hab mir die Sachen einfach geschnappt und mich an die Plattenspieler gestellt und geschaut was passiert...“

Liebe Thomas … ich bin sehr begeistert von dieser wunderbaren Winter-Impression. Und euch liebe Hörer wünsch ich noch einen schönen Restwinter und beim nächsten Podcast ist hoffentlich schon Frühling.

Wie und wann seid ihr zur Elektronischen Musik gekommen?

Für Gerrit markiert den Startpunkt das endlose Hören der Juno Deephouse Podcasts während der Arbeit als Barkeeper.  Bei Markus hat es nach einigem Hören der Hed Kandi Sampler erst durch den Soundtrack von Berlin Calling richtig Klick gemacht. Alles in allem ist das gut 10 Jahre her.

Welche Musikalischen Momente sind euch besonders in Erinnerung geblieben?

Unsere ersten gemeinsamen Auftritte in der Roten Sonne und der Gruam. Große Erlebnisse waren auch immer die Fusion Turmbühnen Eröffnungen, wie z.b. 2014 mit Solomun, der Kanton Floor auf dem Garbicz 2016, Awakenings zur ADE und unser eigenes kleines Schüchtern & Zurückhaltend Open Air.

Wo konnte man euch bisher antreffen ?

Als Act z.B. auf dem Feel Festival, im Harry Klein, Ritter Butzke, Rote Sonne, Bahnwärter Thiel, auf dem S&Z Open Air, dem Kommune Vertikal Open Air, Isle of Summer … 
In diesem Sommer sind wir auch wieder auf dem Feel Festival, dem Midsommar Festival, und der Korfu Odyssee vertreten. 

Gibt es Zukunftspläne?

Wir basteln gerade an unserem ersten Live-Set, wir sind gespannt wie es ankommen wird.
Und unser größtes Ziel ist ja ganz klar : FUSION BACHSTELZEN !

Für den heutigen Podcast habe ich mir die umwerfende Künstlerin Isabeau Fort eingeladen. Jana hat mich bereits mit ihren ersten Sets vor knapp drei Jahren mit ihrem unglaublichen Musikgefühl begeistert. Daraus ist dann auch sofort ein ganz toller Kontakt entstanden. 

2016 hab ich Jana dann auf unser kleines VFFF Festival eingeladen und nach langem Suchen nach der Party ist sie dann auch mit Ihrer Freundin Lola auf unserer schönen Himmelswiese eingeschwebt. Die zwei haben uns dann am Sonntag ein traumhaftes b2b-Set gespielt. Daraus ist dann das umtriebige Duo Brothers entstanden … ich bin schon etwas stolz ein bisschen meine Finger im Spiel gehabt zu haben ;-)

Janas Sets und Podcast sind immer wieder eine Bereicherung meiner musikalischen Welt. Mal technoid, mal housig verspielt aber dabei doch immer auf der Suche nach Neuem und so wunderschöne Experimentierfreudig.

Doch Jana beschränkt sich nicht nur aufs Auflegen, sondern ist auch mit dem Cellarius Kollektiv aus Marburg unterwegs. Hier entstehen wunderbare Partys und Open Air die mit viel Liebe gestaltet sind. Und auch auf dem spannenden Wilde Möhre Festival waren sie 2017 mit einem eigenen Floor anzutreffen. Jana lebt die Musik mit unglaublich viel Liebe und Herz … und das ist toll.

Für mich hat sie trotz Fieber diesen wunderbaren Podcast eingespielt und lockt damit den Frühling unter Schneedecke hervor. Mit diesen wunderbar housigen Tönen hat der Winter keine Chance mehr. Jana schön das uns die Musik zusammengebracht hat … und nun erst mal gute Besserung. Und meinen Hörern da daraus … zieht eure Tanzschuhe an und lasst uns ein Frühlingstänzchen wagen.

Rosario Galati was born in Italy in 1976. By skillfully playing with different music genres he is considered as one of the most talented sound arrangers of the recording industry in his home country.
His career began in 2006 when a collaboration with his friend Mario
Scalambrin led to his first acclaimed Ep Release on Joe T Vannelli’s label DBX. Two years later as one third of the group Sicily Pleasure together with Scalambrin „Flashback“ was released and raised the attention of Lutzenkirchen, who in fact, requested Rosario to realize a remix for him.
The following year he started the project Emmanuel Dunn (his former stage name) and his hit Norfolk reached great and unexpected success, underlined by the support of famous Djs as Umek, Marco V, Hernan Cattaneo and Joe T Vannelli. Successful has also been the realization of his bootlegs Data - One In A Million and Kasabian - Days Are Forgotten, played by Top Djs such as Tiesto, David Guetta and others back in the days.
In 2013, he left his old crew and decided to go back to his birth name Rosario Galati. He started collaborating with Déepalma Records which has been bringing him onto the radar of the worldwide industry. Many successful remix productions, numerous inclusions on famous Mix-Compilations and collaborations with artists like UK’s rising star Vanilla Ace, Italian compatriot Simone Vitullo, Deeplomatik from Miguel Migs’ finest Salted Music or his friend Yves Murasca – label head of Déepalma Records - are setting the path for a bright future.

Here we go with a 70's wild child. Hailing from Trinidad and growing up in Brooklyn New York, we present Tasha aka DJ Tabu.

Some of her earliest music education moments came via browsing the 45’s record collections of her uncles and helping them spin at family functions. Though music was among her first loves, Tasha for many years pursued her career in Acting and Education. But the passion for DJing lingered and in 2001 Tasha launched into her DJ career with fervour. 

Blending a mix of syncopated, melodic house music inspired by Latin American, Middle Eastern, African and other global sounds, her sets are eclectic and reflects the influence of multi-genres of music and
her world travels. From the lounge to the dance floor, the combined musical collection and skills that this DJ brings are incomparable.
