Our Vintage Output Split Blades are a Hum-Cancelling Strat replacement pickup, that sounds like a single coil pickup. These are warm and full-sounding, while still retaining the bright wound string sound we all love. This guitar is an Alder-Bodied Strat with a Lindy Fralin Maple Neck. The Samples were recorded through a Fender Deluxe Reverb with no effects.

This song took a while to develop and is still a work in progress. It started with a melody and quickly developed into a full-fledged track that I quickly realized would lend itself best to an electronic almost Lo-Fi feel in the drums. To keep the music clean and easily understood, I used synths, while electric guitar playing provides an airy feel. I used both electronic and acoustic drum kits to keep it sounding realistic and as far away from a video game soundtrack as possible. I haven't had much experience with writing electronic music, but this piece let me develop it a little more. It's almost my new favorite genre now, and has opened up a new world for me, even though this is sort of a hybrid. Enjoy!

Wait No Longer

This took 2 days, and the mix is still a little off from where I want it, but it took a lot of practicing my scales on the keyboard on the fly to play stuff as fast as is required for the piece. Unlike a lot of my pieces, the electric guitar is not the main feature in this one. I also used, almost entirely, a custom-built electric drum kit. In the past, I always had an acoustic as my main kit and an electric to supplement it. Building it took  a bit of practice ahead of time, but it was nice to be able to fine-tune everything to exactly what I wanted. I also broke my high E string on my guitar before recording but didn't want to delay recording to replace it, so the electric guitar tracks don't use the high E-string. The chords I used in this are mainly jazz-inspired. When recording faster tempo songs, I feel like i put more work into it for less time on the actual song, but they're super fun to do. Overall I learned a lot from writing this piece and want to explore some more things in the Electronic genre in the future.
