Born 3 months premature, this child had no name... Just Boy. Born with a rare lung disease, his parents wanting to give him a strong name, they decided on John. John Boy was born. This NYC based artist blends rock/pop/electronic/dance to create his "dark pop" sound. Filled with raw emotion, sexual expression, sexy darks vocals, and edgy lyrics...he shines a blinding light on loneliness, comformity, fear and confusion. Called a "new recording star" by Next Magazine, John Boy's been compared to Nine Inch Nails, Robbie Williams, Incubus and been called the male version of Madonna, P!NK, and Lady Gaga. John Boy's first EP, "Space Junkie", a dance-heavy album with twisted humor but also depth, was produced by Shane Faber. It caught the ear of top NYC promoter Mark Nelson which led to a fully staged theatrical tour of the New York club scene at top venues including Limelight, Cheetah, Exit, Splash, Hush, Ohm and after-parties for Michael Jackson and Madonna (performing with Donna Delory & Niki Harris- Madonna's long time back-up singers). His debut Full length cd, "Choked Not Broken" was released in August 2005 after a year long promotional tour. This second release, produced by Jason Paige, reveals a darker side to John Boy; his music reflects a harder edge, trading in his club sound for gritty rock hooks and provocative lyrics. Jason Paige, who's worked with Enriques Iglesias and Ashanti, describes the unique sound as "Britney meets Marilyn Manson". With concert performances in the vain of Madonna, he not only conceptualized and choreographed his own material but has also choreographed for other artists including Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked, West Wing, Glee) and The Glamazons (America's Got Talent). When not in the studio or on the road with his music, John Boy has also starred in many theatre productions including the Broadway National Tour of "Cats" (Rum Tum Tugger). John Boy is an artist that speaks from the truth of who he is and what he feels. He takes you on a musical journey and pushes the envelope the whole way down. For those of you fortunate enough to have seen him busking in the streets of Kingston, you'll be all too aware of the growing phenomenon that is Aaron Norton. And deservedly so. He isn't another fame hungry mediocre singer, nor one of your X-factor wannabe's, this guy simply has it all. 

It hasn't been a quick road to success either. Aaron's persistence is key to his outstanding vocals and his natural ability to captivate the audiences that he plays to. It all started in the year 2000, when he first performed live at a school concert. The story may sound cliche but a 15 year old Aaron Norton had his audience stunned to silence with his rendition of "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton. For a boy who hadn't anticipated such a reaction, this was the first time he believed he had the talent to make his dream a reality. 

With a talent for song writing and guitar playing way beyond his years, at the age of 17 Aaron was playing the London circuit. Ranging from the claustrophobic "Betsy Trotwood", to renowned venues such as "The Bedford" and "The Half Moon", he fast became a popular and established singer-songwriter. Live performances on Capital Radio, BBC2 and at the London Palladium merely add to his impressive resume'. 

Moving forward, Aaron has thrown his passion for performing into establishing himself as a full-time musician. He has become a resident performer in the Kingston-upon-Thames area and his avid fan base are testament to his likeability and unquestionable talent.
