A minimal journey delivered by Victor Boga. Born in Bucharest Romania. A young DJ and producer who began to experience with music since the age of 15. He is generally attracted to organic music with minimal and house influences. 
Wishing to gain a larger understanding of music, he graduated school of audio engineering, determining him to put his mark on the Romanian underground style.

Julian is a real studio wizard. The 7th Eliptic release, Peach In Chaos LP, is his much anticipated debut LP. It finds him explore rhythms that are imbued with all manner of late night motifs. Deft pads, wonky samples, chunky techno kicks and filtered loops all bring off beat charm and curious character to each and every track.

On A side, the bleep-heavy 'Peace In Chaos' stands out from the very first kick as a dance floor track, it spans across the full spectrum with the psychedelic bass and crunchy '90s techno groove. On the flip, Julian explores a deeper territory, with some twitchy samples and nagging groove, on the minimalistic - but no less fluid or mind-altering - 'Joaca'.

'Just Be' has a more rugged groove with slippery shakers and kinked percussions, tough rolling minimal aimed squarely at the main room at peak time, the dense bass pulsations of the track compliment the mood. 'Nightzzz' takes things into moodier territory with a broad sweep of keys spelling out an eerie mood around a break beat. A complete journey on B side.

Get ready for more swing-fuelled hypnotic groove business on C side, featuring the late night bass driven bump of 'Say Cheese At The Radio', that it gets more heady, with swirling pads circling round the vocal and nimble hits.

With 'Day-Z', Julian is diving deep into murkier waters via the creepy electronics, foreboding chords and heavy bass line, hypnotic enough for perfect dance floor dynamics. Finally, go deep into the afterhours on the atmospheric and sensual mood of 'A Matter Of Choice'.

[Short biography]
Luminescu is an up-and-coming minimal DJ and producer based in Montreal. The origin of his moniker comes from the Latin root of his surname—meaning “Light”—with the characteristic Romanian suffix as a tribute to their illustrious writers and more recent rominimal wave. He shared line-ups with great inspirations like Alci, John Dimas, Praslea and Pheek, only to name a few. He recently signed two EPs on Psicodelica and Minimadelic Records, a single on Ambrosía Records and he’s now focusing on a psychoacoustics concept album.

A few words from Luminescu:

I was once asked to record a set as if it were my last on Earth. Without the claim to be the best—I imagined a selection full of love, good-natured, with knowing smiles and cries of joy. I imagined a setting where a few friends are dancing in the sand, under the shining sun, with a massive sound system and an unprecedented bonding and energy.
The set was crafted around tonal similarities and key to ensure an ever-ending story and a seamless narrative. Rominimal joints succeed one another with common characteristics: driving bass and rolling percussions, while the mood oscillates in between bouncing sunny tracks and progressive stellar atmospheres. Around half of the set, a vocal perfectly sums up the universal message I wanted to share: “All right y’all. And, by the way, you hear this morning that somebody loves you, somebody believes in you, and somebody needs you. And, somebody knows that you can do it, I know you can do it!”
The second half is marked by a short dub slowdown—a remix I made for my buddy Jack George (on Fratii.ro)—followed by a succession of powerful breaks and energetic tech tracks, including a tribute to the old school with an Underworld edit. The journey ends with a dreamy break beat piece, allowing for a smooth return to earth.
In the end, I imagined people dancing round in a circle while holding hands and sincerely hope you will feel the same!
