Jerod S. Rivera @jerodsrivera is a musician based in Oakland, California with a focus in electronica and leftfield techno. With a background in drums and experimental electronics, Rivera approaches composing in a do-it-yourself mentality and is completely self-taught. On January 1, 2021, Rivera self-released his debut full-length album Virgo. He also has a monthly show on Internet Public Radio called Adjustment Layer, focusing on forward-thinking electronic music. Rivera is also a designer working for museums and non-profit organizations.

We are excited to welcome Oakland based musician, Jerod S. Rivera. For this installment, Rivera steps away from his language of rhythmic analog synth compositions and beat driven sequence based patterns, instead honing in and expanding upon individual sonic elements. Here are ten different movements that evoke a sense of otherworldly cinematic narration and synesthesia. With the playful conduction of glimmering atmospheres and use of negative space, a scenic backdrop emerges from a spectrum of gradual tonal shifts and pacing. Percussion personified, speaking through implied rhythms that navigate different terrains of the stratosphere.
