I speak with PHD student, instructor of philosophy, and podcaster Aurora Laybourn (@ow_roar_a).  She is the host of the podcast Drunk Church which explores the intersections of  anti-fascist theory and religious eroticism.  We listen to some of her favorite songs, talk about the original sad girl musician, and what music our parents liked.

Beth Hetland is a Professor, Adjunct at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she teaches several comics and comics adjacent courses. She earned her MFA from The Center for Cartoon Studies in 2011.

She has a variety of solo projects as well as collaborative works with Kyle O’Connell. Her newest book TENDER is a psychological thriller with body horror elements, published by Fantagraphics, available March 12th, 2024. 

Some of her favorite things are paper craft, narrative structures, and the comics community.
