Bio:

Cypriot born producer Alexandre Pavlou aka Phaction’s passion for music was founded through a love of drumming from an early age. He moved to Bristol in 2007 where his growing fascination for Drum and Bass music was catalysed by the diverse vibe and nightlife of the city. After learning to mix and playing out live with high energy sets he began craving a new challenge and sought a different medium through which to express his creativity.

His journey into music production began in 2013. Inspired by the sounds of the city and music all around him, his love ranges widely from classical and jazz through to film scores and even metal, which have become intrinsic in the vibe of his productions.

The up and coming producer has collaborated with the likes of GLXY, Hugh Hardie, as well as exceptional vocal talents such as Leo Wood, Charli Brix & Riya. After hearing his work, Total Science signed his music to their legendary imprint CIA, culminating in a 5 track EP that gained support from the likes of Goldie, Lenzman, Halogenix, DJ Marky and Foreign Concept.

His debut EP 'Hard Truth' on Metalheadz gained wide DJ support, with Aviatrix ft. Riya being picked up by Adidas to promote their latest Spezial clothing range.

His ‘Signature Moves EP’ is comprised of five brand new tracks, honed to perfection over the last couple of months in his Bristol studio. This journey mirrors the dynamic evolution of the music world itself, transitioning from the analog days of MiniDiscs and vinyl to the cutting-edge of AI-driven sound creation and performance.
A true student of evolution, DJ UZO has mastered every era of DJ technology while staying rooted in the art of connection. His music blends Afro House, House, Amapiano, and Soulful Electronic textures, bridging continents and cultures with every set.
Throughout his career, DJ UZO has shared stages with many iconic artists, including Terry Hunter, Gene Farris, Paul Johnson, Gene Hunt, Julius The Mad Thinker, Mark Farina, Francis Mercier, Roger Sanchez, and Sofi Tukker, among others. Beyond performance, his deep industry relationships and business acumen have allowed him to book, produce, and facilitate opportunities for some of the biggest names in the global music scene.
As the founder of UZO Media Productions, DJ UZO leads high-level event productions that fuse immersive art, music, and technology. His structural direction has elevated significant cultural moments such as Miami Art Week, where he continues to shape the city’s artistic and creative identity.
A recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award (2017), DJ UZO’s contributions to art, education, and community building remain central to his mission. His journey has also enabled him to contribute to the Library of Congress and the African American Museum of History and Culture in Washington, DC. Through his DJ school, The Art of DJing, he mentors the next generation of artists, emphasizing technical mastery, creative confidence, and professional excellence.
