I grew up in a loving but strict and traditional Chinese family. I was raised in my first few years , and maintained a very close relationship to my grandfather, who was a doctor, a great husband and father, and grandparent to me. Somewhat overachieving, he always understood my ways, and I felt me and him had a connection that sometimes even surpassed the understanding between parent and child. 

We grew apart after he had learnt I had sacrificed all I had worked for, for music, and sadly, before I could show him the fruits of my labour, he passed. 

Today , I toured with Vice, in my hometown of Guiyang, and people here loved my music. April the 4th marked the day of the festival of the dead, and I felt my grandpa's presence during my performance. 

This song is for him, and also for everyone that believed in my journey. 

I am forever grateful. 

It's been a while but trust me, it was for the better. Only up from here.
