As far as innovative producers go, there aren’t many who can hold a candle to ATL’s own Shanti. Known for his
uniquely twisted take on bass heavy 140 music, Shanti has been making literal waves around the world, collecting
features on heavyweight labels such as Brunswick Sound and most recently Southpoint.

His latest EP, released via Elliptic Audio Research is truly groundbreaking stuff, focussing heavily on raw, crunchy
sound design and a collection of emotionally provoking synth sounds. The overall cohesion within the EP’s track
listing is phenomenal, bringing the phrase ‘Amphibious’ to life with such vivid colours and rhythmic progression,
similar to that of the ocean itself.

The first track ‘Portals Of Light‘ is an experience that sets off the whole project perfectly. Luscious layers of audible
aquatics sit balanced perfectly beneath sweeping synthesis alongside a beautiful key and vocal introduction. 

The progression is flawless as we move into ‘Reality Of Sonar’, which is built of a similar structure, with a twist. We’re now
below the waves rather than in the pools at the shoreline. This is where unpredictable rhythmic elements come into
play with skippy drum patterns switching at will between half-time and four by four.

The progression continues subtly into the most upbeat section of the EP entitled ‘Sensualist’. Here we start to hear
more typical Shanti styles come into play with some incredible organ work and dubbed out vocal arrangement. The
second half of the track suddenly strikes with more choppy rapid styles of drum pattern and bass sound design that
can’t help but feel Shanti has been waiting to unleash. 

Finally we start to ascend to the surface again with the
stunning arrangement of ‘Poseidon's Cove’. There isn’t much more to say than what a fantastic way to finish an
incredible musical journey. 

Shanti has certainly outdone himself with this one.
