“The song is about the concept of not truly understanding how you feel in a relationship and how things can turn from great to terrible. The song follows a structure of the main character’s feelings breaking as the song goes on. The first verse is quite happy with lines like ‘Oh I love it when you call me, I love to hear your voice’. The song then changes then starts to feel quite melancholy when the pre-chorus comes in with lines like ‘Juliet, she’s crying on the phone, don’t leave me to be a lover on my own’. The 2nd verse covers her dealing with her problems and turning to drink. ‘You know the drink won’t help you, and I know you’re coming down, so don’t drink away your sorrows now’. Then there is the bridge, there I really try to make the listener feel quite sad towards Juliet. With Imagery of her just sitting on her own drinking away her memories, etc., etc.”
