The first episode in our new series of guest mixes is created by the Italian sound artist Enrico Coniglio. In this episode, Enrico explores the vast discography of Dronarivm and selects some of his favourite tracks spanning from 2014 to 2024.

Enrico's own music incorporates a diverse range of stylistic influences, blending elements of ambient, drone, modern classical, and field recordings. On Dronarivm, we have published five of his works, some recorded in collaboration with Matteo Uggeri and Giulio Aldinucci. Patina Lush is an electronic composer from Austin, Texas, rooted in tactile emotion. His music is vivid and hallucinatory — shaped by layered textures, shifting patterns, and a pulse that bends between clarity and dream.

'Mist Unseen' is a sonata of phantoms: somatic grace drifting through vapor. The pieces move like shifting fog — elusive, dissolving, yet leaving traces that return unexpectedly, almost as if hummed back from memory. It unfolds in tension — between what is traced and what has not yet taken form — a work that moves like memory, half-revealed and ever-becoming.

One of the themes of this album is, I would say, dawn, new beginnings, taking the first steps on a new journey and so on, and many of the sounds used on it were recorded early in the morning. Several feature water, be it rain or a gently burbling forest stream. The recorded sounds were then processed in various ways to create soundscapes which hopefully have something of the life and organic feel of nature in them. A commentator online once described my Snufmumriko music as ”soundscape cloth woven from field recordings” or something along those lines, and i think that’s an apt description. There’s also an almost spiritual dimension to these tracks, and I was often in a very introspective mood as I created them.
