Dein Genre/Sound
-Mich gibt’s in langsam: Downtempo, Slowrave oder auch in schnell: Melodic, Deep, Progressive House. Mein Sound ist meistens melodisch und gefühlvoll, manchmal mag ich‘s aber auch mit mehr Dampf. Je nach Uhrzeit, Veranstaltung und auch etwas nach Laune.

Wo kommst du her?
-Ich komme vom Bodensee, wohne nun aber schon seit 10 Jahren in Berlin.

Wie lange legst du schon auf?
-Ich habe Anfang 2021 mit dem Auflegen angefangen. Nun also fast 2 Jahre.

Wie war dein Weg bisher?
-Ich bin von der Sorte „Corona-DJ“. Es war Winter, es war Lockdown, ich hatte viel Zeit und brauchte eine neue Beschäftigung, um durch den Lockdownwinter zu kommen. Musik war schon immer ein wichtiger Teil in meinem Leben und ich habe schon viele Jahre und  Nächte in Clubs und auf Festivals verbracht. Also habe ich mir als neues Projekt das Auflegen lernen vorgenommen, habe mir einen DJ-Controller gekauft und seitdem viele, viele Stunden damit verbracht. Mittlerweile durfte ich nun schon einige Clubs in Berlin bespielen und habe den Weg zu Mystic Tales gefunden.

Was ist dir an einem Safer Space wichtig?
-Mir ist wichtig, dass es Awarenessteams gibt, die an Veranstaltungsorten als Ansprechpersonen verfügbar sind, wenn sich ein Gast unwohl fühlt. Auch finde ich wichtig, dass sexistisches, rassistisches, homophobes Verhalten oder Äußerungen direkt dazu führen, dass diejenige Person des Ortes verwiesen wird. Auch auf Seiten von Verantwortlichen, VerantalterInnen und Personal sollte solchem Verhalten gegenüber keine Toleranz gezeigt werden.

-Angefangen mit Gigs bei eigenen Veranstaltungen mit dem EXIT Kollektiv und der Katzenjammer Rec. Crew, bis hin zu Clubveranstaltungen in Berlin, war mein Highlight dieses Jahr auf zwei Festivals auflegen zu dürfen, unter anderem auf dem Mit Dir Festival.

Was ist dir an einem Safer Space wichtig?
-Keine Stigmatisierung, maximales Verständnis für alle Menschen, Gleichberechtigung, das alles auch unabhängig  vom äußeren Erscheinungsbild.

Möchtest du gerne der Welt noch was sagen oder mitgeben?
-Liebe Welt und Menschen, bleibt bunt!

This is my recording from my Closing on Saturday Morning at Sisyphos Dampfer.
I am very thankful for this beautiful experience.

When you were there you know that the closing was a little bit unsatisfied for me, because one of the tracks just broke down. Both Tracks were running but one just shut down. Nobody knew why. So I decided to cut the closing in the "right" way, because it is a very emotional one for me.

Thank you to everyone who made this day and experience so beautiful! <3

Porsche, Pilze und Posaunen aufm Dampfer @ Sisyphos (Closing, 10.06.2023)

Was für eine Abfahrt! 3 Stunden Gans im Glück im Dampfer! Vor 2 Jahren wäre ich nicht mal auf die Idee gekommen, hier zu spielen und hatte ein wenig BimmeldiBammel. Nur wenige Takte darauf war davon nichts mehr zu spüren und ich habe den Ausflug - und auch die Seitenstechen vom sportlich mitwippen - komplett genossen. Danke an alle, die mit mir ordentlich Dampf abgelassen, mich liebevoll angebrüllt und viel Herz dagelassen haben. Schön wars!!

My first gig at Sisyphos! I would've never thought that I'd get to play here a few years ago. And, yep.. I was a litte nervous. But it only took a few moments until I just let myself fall into this steamy 3h ride filled with a wild crowd that yelled at me in the most  loving way. Thanks to everyone involved! Hope you'll enjoy as much as i did!

During the last few years, Elmar's personal surroundings have developed into a creative source of energy with which he has been maximizing his potential and expertise. Together with his early companion and friend Florian Frings he founded his own label 5D.records.

"LIFE exists. Now we have to level up the transfers between the “5th” and “reality”. You want to know how that works? 
Just keep your mind open. Everything will be explained without spoken words. You will hear it!“

In 2012, Elmar's own artistic vision gave birth to his debut album: “living.LIFE". What was once meant to be a live-set for an upcoming festival, evolved into a 13 track release. Infused with the living essence of sound, it is an intimate collection of snapshots that reflect more than words ever could. "living.LIFE" were released on his own label 5D.records in December 2013.

A few months later, a big dream came to reality. 
Elmar dropped his first own 4 Track EP. (DayNight EP). 
Released on Richie Hawtin ́s Label M_NUS.

Three years after his debut album, he is ready with the second one! “EXISTED.live” will also be released on 5D.records. Followed by the “EXISTED.live Remix Series A – I“ presented by Elmar Strathe. Continuously released on 5D.records in 2017.
