As a DJ, photojournalist,Visual Artist and Hit + Run crew member, Azul has quite the interesting background. Born in Brooklyn, raised in the Bronx, and currently residing in in Boyle Heights, Azul developed national acclaim through his soulful DJ sets, as well as his published photo work. Musically, his performances reflect this varied upbringing and experience, and regularly run the gamut from Latin dance classics to hip-hop, house, Afro beat, and electro. 

Azul has been a resident and guest at some of LA’s most popular “good music” nights such as Firecracker, Bridges, Descarga, and The Do-Over. He has Hosted, played alongside and taken Flicks for such as: Snoop Dogg,Common, Talib Kweli, Questlove, Maceo, Afrika Bambaataa, Kool Herc, Jazzy Jay, Egyptian Lover, Arabian Prince, Cut Chemist, Madlib, Kenny Dope, Diamond D, Z Trip, The Beat Junkies, 9th Wonder, Dj Spinna, Garth Trinidad, Peanut Butter Wolf, John Arnold, Prefuse 73, Nobody, Daedelus, John Beltran, Daz-I-Kue, Paul Seiji Dolby, N'Dea Davenport, Ozomotli, Quetzal, Jurassic 5 and The Black Eyed Pea's to name a few...

Azul is also the Creator of the Peace Photo Project started 7 yrs ago to Raise Awareness about the on going wars. Started as "Peace in IRAQ" project , it Quickly moved to the "PEACE" project to fully respect the other conflicts around the world. 

After 13 shows Last year from San Francisco,Santa Cruz,Puerto Rico,local Universities,Charter Schools & Los Angeles Hottest dance spots with write ups in URB magazine,Working class magazine and a television appearances for USC Campus Tv..the project is close to 5000 photos..
This Year The project has reached its next level Currently under going a Wheat paste street campaign to spread the message from the street up...music movement.

LOS ULTRA CRIOLLOS es un junte formado por José David Pérez y Waldemar Reyes.

LUC machacan en su pilón los elementos tradicionales de la música puertorriqueña que los identifica, mientras mantienen su identidad musical moderna influenciada por la electrónica, el jam y el indie rock alternativo.  Cuatro puertorriqueño, güiro, bongó, maraca, pleneros y barril se unen al beat, al arpegiador y a lo digital.  En esta ocasión arrancan con su nuevo sencillo “Fulminante,” el cual sale de un mejunje criollo entre la bomba puertorriqueña y el sonido electrónico que los caracteriza.  

José David Pérez es un baterista destacado quien formó parte integral del grupo de rock alternativo puertorriqueño Circo.  Ha colaborado con artistas como Calle 13, Pedro Capo, Jorge Drexler, Monsieur Periné, Ileana Cabra (PG13) y Diana Fuentes, y ha recibido reconocimientos importantes como nominaciones a los Latin Grammy.   Además, trabaja como Productor Musical Asociado para el Especial del Banco Popular de Puerto Rico.

Waldemar Reyes es un cantautor, productor y músico puertorriqueño. Ha completado giras con artistas reconocidos como Ricardo Arjona y Dräco Rosa y, ha compartido el escenario con músicos de alto calibre como Peter Thorn, Rusty Anderson y Gaby Moreno.  Actualmente se enfoca en su trabajo como productor, músico de estudio, y compositor.  Su álbum “Movimiento,” marca su cuarto proyecto como solista.
