The upbeat 'You' flips the vibe with more textural synths, pixelated leads and smeared chords. The drums are heavy but have funk in their heels and when a wordless vocal loop and bright pads arrive after the atmospheric breakdown, pure joy is sure to wash over any crowd.

Kicking off 2023 in the best shape and spirits, Elninodiablo turns up with his latest five-track bomb, 'The House of JuJu' EP. 

As ever, drawn towards the further spaced-out, low-slung side of the house spectrum - think Andrew Weatherall's adrenaline fuelled psychedelia laced with hints of sedated EBM and mutant newbeat triangulations, Elninodiablo has us surfing a tidal wave of 303-powered disco, tendinous bass manoeuvres and off-kilter patterns spanning a wide range of influences, from electro to Italo, afro-funk through acid, pop and electro. 

Squeezing the most electrifying juice out of the ARP Odyssey and the MS20, Elninodiablo lets the hedonistic vibrations loose on the slo-burning title-track, 'House of JuJu' - a polychromatic sense- awakener flush with alien squelch, laser blasts and PI funk-styled riffs, geared up with the right amount of floor-ready tactility and languid abandon to have ravers wading in their own sweat. Steamy ear-otica wrapped into one helluva fine, curvy envelope, pulpous and playful as it gets. 

Wonky to the bone, 'Victoria's Secret' pulls out an incendiary mix of Egyptian- motif'd IDM, off-axis space disco hoodoo and no-nonsense Afro-futurism to hypnotic effect, merging the entrancing power of tribalesque rituals with the magnetic flare of arps-loaded Italo done right. 

Pacing up the trancey electro highway at full throttle, 'E.S.P' leaves no mystery uncovered as to its goal: setting the dance floor ablaze thanks to its imparable combo of fast- lane-ready rhythmic engineering, bouncy drumwork and mischievous vox stabs bursting through with disruptive fun. 

A slice of utterly mesmerising daydream in sound, 'Gompa' has us lifting off to stratospheric heights in a caress, watching the dancing crowd move in slow motion from high up above. There, Elninodiablo's silken touch displays in all its dazzling iridescence, immersive to the fullest as it retains much of its exquisitely titillating dynamism and unchaste sensuality, wrapping up yet another all around captivating batch of Elninodiablo's adventures across the electronic hyperspace's hidden nooks and ridge lines.

They still exist, these stories: A fresh newcomer project from Cologne sends their first demo to just one address. An A&R, who has a medically certified autotune allergy, listens to the demo, hears an autotune track and signs the band anyway. ‘Streetpoet’ by Mourad Kehailia & Sebastian Fischer aka 9OASES is as unusual as the genesis of this record. It’s a wild hybrid of raving breakbeats, a chord hook that would have done Underworld proud in their heyday and the aforementioned autotune rap. It is magical. Axel Boman is a remixer who can make the magic even more magical. His 8-minute version of ‘Streetpoet’ establishes a long overdue new genre: trancehall! With ‘New Ballad’, 9OASES show us that they really mean business with their plans for world conquest. This is great techno pop with heart and mind. We are very excited to see what the guys from Cologne will do next.
