I’ve been seriously obsessed with this song by Jeanne Added, I just can't get it out of my head. I've been listening to it on repeat for months and singing it all day long in three different styles: mentally when someone is within 3 meters, humming when people are around but not too close, and singing my lungs out when I’m alone in the house or car. Or at least when I think I am…

One day, I parked at the supermarket and wouldn’t get out of the car until the song ended. I was singing out loud with way too much passion and wild body language when I realized someone was parked next to me, laughing his head off at the spectacle! 

After many tries and retries, I finally managed to get this cover done. Now I can finally move on with my life… :) Thanks for listening! (hope with headphones)

Analyse - Thom Yorke Cover

This track is a little nuts.....

If you've ever battled a raccoon, this is the song for you, sung from the perspective of the perpetrator. Raccoons are wily little buggers and more than a little guile is needed to control the movements of an animal that has been trapped in a cage before.

Debated with myself a bit on adding more instruments and sounds but in the end decided that less was more. The "rhythm guitar" is a distorted saturated synth and the "lead" is a Logic Pro Heavy Metal guitar manipulated with the pitch stick on my synth. The difficult part was getting the swing on the drums right and the ADSR right on the main synth, modulation and LFO. Also played a bit with the compression to get a breathing sound.

About the raccoon - that battle is ongoing - physical deterrence is now in place.

The raccoon, also spelled racoon and sometimes called the common raccoon or northern raccoon to distinguish it from the other species, is a mammal native to North America. It is the largest of the procyonid family, having a body length of 40 to 70 cm (16 to 28 in), and a body weight of 5 to 26 kg (11 to 57 lb). Its grayish coat mostly consists of dense underfur, which insulates it against cold weather. The animal's most distinctive features include its extremely dexterous front paws, its facial mask, and its ringed tail, which are common themes in the mythologies of the Indigenous peoples of the Americas surrounding the species. The raccoon is noted for its intelligence, and studies show that it is able to remember the solution to tasks for at least three years. Inspired by a poem by Robert Bly:

While making this, the medieval text 'Omnia sol temperat' dumped into my head. As it have the rebirth theme as well, the synchronicity of it all seemed unmistakeable :-)

Ah, On This Planet

This must be the quickest recording I have ever made. I spent an entire day listening to the original non-stop. That same night I started recording, and in less than two hours, I had a decent take. If you're familiar with the original, you'll notice that I’ve infused it with a completely different feeling. That's what renditions are all about, right?

I knew that this first take wasn't perfect and planned to revisit in the following days. Big mistake...or maybe not? Two days later I was totally unable to match the same tone and mood. You see, feelings change and so do voices. So, I'm now committed to this first, decent take. Be easy on me. 😊

I'm not doing any music these days,so I thought I'd post one I did years ago. It's a cover of a Paul Ads song I've always loved.

Paul Adamson is a damn fine songwriter and I hardly ever record covers of other folk's work,but this one resonated deeply with me and still does after repeated listens.
I didn't lean too heavy on the production on this,because I wanted to allow the song to shine. I hope you enjoy and bring a few listens to Paul's cloud.
