Melbourne's premier soft-thrash troupe TOUGH UNCLE are overjoyed to present Pineapple Man, the lead single from an upcoming 2018 extended play.

Following the release of 2017's Fruit, TOUGH UNCLE again reach into the horn of plenty for Pineapple Man, overseen by workhorse producer Sean Gage (Foreign/National, Flimsey Lohan). In a muscular leap forward sonically, Pineapple Man lets loose the dogs of war with an off-kilter torrent of snare and guitar noise best listened to at full tilt.

Pineapple Man (a peculiarly titled ode to ever-present creeping dread) plays as a statement release for the boys, having made their Preston warehouse studio home as the cup runneth over after a wildly productive 2017. 

TOUGH UNCLE will launch the single in Coburg at the Post Office Hotel on Saturday February 24th. 

It's all popping off in a big way. Stay tough.

In this episode I speak to Dan Oke, front person of Melbourne band Jarrow. Also, he plays bass or guitar or drums in about one million other bands all the time,  so you've definitely seen him around.

Dan and I discuss the lyrics of his song Project X Prodigy, to be released on Jarrow's forthcoming self-titled record, out on May 22. Dan's last two albums are brilliant to listen to, diverse and weird and exciting. His lyrics are always so pointed but simultaneously ambiguous. It was great to have a chat about it.

Welcome to episode one of Authors in Isolation! My name is Elsie Lange and I speak with writers about how they are coping amidst coronavirus and lockdown. 

In this episode, I speak with author and social worker Laura McPhee-Browne from Melbourne, Australia.

Laura's debut novel 'Cherry Beach' is a beautiful coming of age story that tenderly caresses us through themes of love, growth, change, substance abuse, queerness and death in such a gentle way. We also talk a little bit about alcoholism in the context of isolation and in the context of her work, so this is a bit of a content warning.
