Envel's journey in the music industry is truly remarkable, showcasing his versatility as a multidisciplinary artist, electronic music producer, music teacher at Plastic Academias, sound designer and DJ. He has developed his career both nationally and internationally, driven by a natural instinct for exploring and experimenting with new musical and sonic fields, making him an artist with a broad musical discourse. His early exposure to music through the guitar at the age of 10 laid the foundation for his passion.

By 17, he had already embraced the world of electronic music, nurturing his piano skills along the way. His love and interest in music came naturally; playing the guitar was and mixing music on a 2-deck cassette player. 

Envel's formal training at the Taller de Músics in Barcelona and the Conservatori del Liceu honed his musical abilities. His compositions are characterized by minimalist design principles and synthesis, reflecting his artistic vision. Sensitivity and elegance are hallmarks of his work.

A significant turn in his career occurred when he became the sound designer and producer for the well-received "Synthraum and Samplestopro" series, which achieved top sales on the Beatport charts. His prowess in the electronic music scene has cemented his reputation both nationally and internationally. 

To elevate his career, Envel ventured into creating his own label, "Cognition Strings," in mid-2013. This move allowed him to further contribute to the music industry by showcasing his unique style and nurturing emerging talent. 

In addition to his solo work, Envel has become known for his innovative approach and dedication to his craft. As a music teacher at Plastic Academias for several years, he has inspired and educated many aspiring musicians. His dedication to music extends beyond his productions, as he continually seeks to share his knowledge and passion with others. 

His current work is characterized by a captivating fusion of ethereal melodies and upbeat rhythms, taking listeners on a sonic journey through realms of unfiltered emotions and high intensity. His skillful blending of intricate synthesizer and percussion layers results in a compelling sound tapestry that captivates listeners from beginning to end. 

As he embarks on his new project, Envel is now incorporating his own voice, resonant bass sounds, and enveloping harmonies into live performances. This marks a new chapter in his career, where he aims to capture the poignant moments of his life in songs that will soon be unveiled.

Don’t call it a comeback!

While Alternative Blacks may be a new Podcast, the three men behind it — Rush, Ant P and B.Green — are veterans of the genre and three of the founding members of ABRF Roundtable, a former online radio broadcast that predated the current Podcasting wave.

So what is Alternative Blacks? 

Well, for starters, we are all Black, obviously. But, we don’t typically adhere to all the conventional norms, stereotypes and labels people try to place on people of color based on mainstream accessibility.

Listening to our show, you are just as likely to hear a spirited debate on who is the best Dragon Ball Z character as you are to hear our reactions to sports news, thoughts on the status of the culture, and unapologetically curt opinions on the latest in hip-hop.

Not only are we diverse, but our content is too.

If we had to describe ourselves, and our show, in one word, it would be: “Sophistiratchet.” 
This means we are the type of dudes who use multi-syllable words casually, go to brunch and drown in bottomless mimosas, but still have no qualms about going to hood clubs or finding the highest quality du-rags and cocoa butters.
