As the cover and the title suggest, I wonder in music about the roots of great civilizations but also about their downfalls. Many peplums were sampled for the occasion: The Egyptian (Michael Curtiz, 1954), the History of Ruth (Henry Koster, 1960) or the famous Moses (Cecil Blount DeMille, 1956) but also, in another style, the terrifying and necessary Salo or the 120 days of Sodom (1975) by Pasolini. The Hollywood vision of Antiquity, notably through dialogues, offers an inexhaustible source of inspiration in and inevitably gives a cinematic dimension to this project.
The album consists of 9 tracks and an animation clip drawn and produced by me. The atmosphere is at first rather melancholy and disturbing mixing stepper bass, drums trap, samples of piano and violin to then gently slide into a more reggae roots spirit with the intervention of the sweet voice of the argentine voice of Vanesa and with Meïssa on the harmonica with whom I had already recorded on the album "Worlds Inside" in 2015. I hope you will like it.

Comme la pochette et le titre le suggèrent, je m'interroge en musique sur les racines des grandes civilisations mais aussi sur leurs chutes. Beaucoup de péplums ont été samplés pour l'occasion : L'Egyptien (Michael Curtiz,1954), l'Histoire de Ruth (Henry Koster,1960) ou encore le célèbre "Les 10 commandements" (Cecil Blount DeMille,1956) mais aussi, dans un autre style, le terrifiant et nécessaire Salo ou les 120 journées de Sodome (1975) de Pasolini.  La vision Hollywoodienne de l'Antiquité, à travers notamment des dialogues, offre une  source d'inspiration intarissable en et donne inévitablement une dimension cinématique à ce projet. 
L'album est composé de 9 tracks et d'un clip d'animation dessiné et réalisé par mes soins. L'ambiance est au départ plutôt mélancolique et inquiétante mélangeant basses stepper, batterie trap, samples de piano et de violon pour ensuite glisser tranquilement dans un esprit plus reggae roots avec l'intervention de douce voix de l'argentine Vanesa et de Meïssa à l'harmonica avec qui j'avais déjà enregistré sur l'album "Worlds Inside" en 2015.

Como lo sugieren la portada y el título, me pregunto en la música sobre las raíces de las grandes civilizaciones, pero también sobre sus caídas. Se tomaron muestras de muchas pepitas para la ocasión: el egipcio (Michael Curtiz, 1954), la historia de Ruth (Henry Koster, 1960) o el famoso Moisés (Cecil Blount DeMille, 1956) pero también, en otro estilo, el Salo aterrador y necesario o los 120 días de Sodoma (1975) de Pasolini. La visión de Hollywood de la antigüedad, especialmente a través de diálogos, ofrece una fuente inagotable de inspiración e inevitablemente le da una dimensión cinematográfica a este proyecto.
El álbum consta de 9 pistas y un clip de animación dibujado y producido por mí. Al principio, la atmósfera es bastante melancólica y perturbadora, mezclando bajos paso a paso, trampa de batería, muestras de piano y violín para luego deslizarse suavemente hacia un espíritu de raíces más reggae con la intervención de la dolce voz de la argentina Vanesa y de Meïssa en la armónica con la que ya había grabado en el álbum "Worlds Inside" en 2015.
