From up here the sheer expanse of the universe was laid out bare. Back on earth it was impossible to understand how limitless it truly was; it put everything into perspective. Only days had passed since they'd embarked on the most ambitious move of their lives, for now they remained positive, still absorbing everything around them. It was a spectacle that couldn't quite be put into words; you had to see it to believe it. 

Sinchi continue their mission to platform up-and-coming talent from across the globe with the fifth instalment in their Altered States compilation series. Since launching the initiative the Amsterdam-based label and collective have unearthed producers who they feel have a unique sound that needs to be shared with the world. The club-focused tackle on offer this time comes from the likes of Hamburg duo Freakazzé II, French electro-driven producer Nomenklatür, Mexico's Oscar Avendaño aka Levantine, our pick from Leo af Ekenstam, and several more.

As with all Sinchi releases, profit from sales go to the Sinchi Foundation which supports indigenous peoples worldwide.

Arkademode - Get On It (Original Mix)

The original version and four intriguing remixes in different sonic landscapes. The release at times envelops you in darkness, while elsewhere, it offers hope for something brighter. The guitar-driven original version keeps the entire track tense, prompting contemplation on various aspects.

Mundo D presents their remix, maintaining the fierce vibe of the original version but staying true to their own style, which is quite pleasing.

ETANE's urban remix holds you somewhere between Italo Disco and EBM. The melodiousness is infused with hypnotic energy.

Tierra de Ovnis' remix, on one hand, is enchanting and serene, but on the other hand, it possesses an otherworldly power with a psychedelic undertone.

NQUA introduces a remix where the penetrating bass and insightful melodic sounds keep you in rhythm and don't let go.

Julian Fleker is an artist from Argentina, a friend from our origins in the underground of Buenos Aires. Ricardo Ruben's project starting from the name to the artistic side face and composition takes a humorous place, although his musical background is serious. Ricardo Ruben is a character from a song by the 80's rock group Los Twists that carried a share of acid humor. It is then that the name of this Ep is not surprising, nor the way to face a different compositional work, wanting to highlight an idiosyncrasy of personal and local search.

“Sinatra is not dead, Yabran told me” plays with black humor and a story of an Argentine media gate. Yabran was a businessman accused of mafias and corruption that ended in a suicide case where everyone doubted his true death as someones think with Sinatra too. Ricardo Ruben is a drummer and the track is a tremendous banger full of percussions, and acid arpeggios of 303 in staccato where a real drum solo joins playing on top by rolling fills. A song that gallops sideways and that is a tractor pushing pistons like crazy. Weird, jazzy, creepy and bizarre black humor, really irresistible.
