First, there was darkness – morose and shadowy darkness. “After every storm the sun will smile” – they say. Isn’t it indisputable and essential truth which everyone is immovable lingering on? And one day the delightful sensation spreads out quickly in your mind and soul providing the warm breeze of so long – awaited sun rays. 
With his “When light came” EP, Paris-based D’Jib better known as Extrapillow gives this precise impression of how new, still unidentified possibilities suddenly become available. The title track with its glowing synth waves and steady beat immediately cheers you up and you can literally feel the energy flowing through the music. Light makes you feel alive. 
David Garcet’s remix sounds like that long lost gem from British electronic masterminds „Death in Vegas“ with tension growing from ghostly, dreamy darkness to bright light.
Georges Guelters' „Comment ca va“ takes the original’s energy and transforms it for the Nu Disco dance floor and co-Frenchman OR’L’s Strobe Energy edit is exactly that: pure pulsating energy.
“Endless summer”, the expanded, vivid disco house overture, is a perfect companion for the summer and “Guitr” featuring Victor Deleage carries on this warm, light-hearted summer party motif, adding even more of a French touch. Bouncing “No drafting” finishes off the release splendidly, when the dance floor is already at full swing, with the strobe lights shooting out in the deep night sky.

Peter Kremeier, AKA Losoul, has always been an artist we’ve greatly admired here at Hypercolour, so it’s a real thrill to have him on the label at long last.  A huge catalogue of eclectic, distinctive and funky music for labels like Playhouse, Moodmusic and Freak ‘n’ Chic, Losoul turns in two exceptional tracks on the ‘Slowly Turning’ release here.

‘Daddy, What’s A Rise?’ is classic Losoul; a heavy low slung groove never lets up, with micro disco stabs and distant vocal snippets, looping round and round for over 10 minutes, but without ever standing still, the filtering and deft touches keep things moving at just the right funky pace.

B side cut ‘Time & Space’ is a glitchy and dubbed out affair, a solid 4/4 beat underpins a myriad of delayed percussion and panning synths, spatial effects and an incessant chord stab, head music for the heads indeed!

Losoul contributes to the Hypercolour resurgence that has pulled in left of center releases from the likes of Eliphino, West Norwood Cassette Library, Will Azada and Maya Jane Coles over recent months, with plenty more goodies lined up for the coming months ahead.
