Shortly before the summer break: get ready for one of our favorite releases so far this year on Emerald & Doreen! Tulioxi’s „Bring the Funk to the Punk” is an immense tune for all these upcoming hot summer nights. This masterpiece definitely has the potential to become one of the singles of the year. A catchy phrase, a driving acidic synth bassline, moody Balearic pads – you can literally see the hands going up in the air on all the dancefloors of the Earth! But THAT is not everything, ooooohhhh nooooo! ALDA adds some superdry and funky synth bass and hard-hitting drums to turn it into a new wave electro disco classic that leaves you standing on the dancefloor with your mouth wide open and eyes shut to feel and cope with the immense purifying pressure coming from the speakers. CABARET NOCTURNE turns the lights off and lets the punk’s silhouette appear slowly in the foggy strobelight before he starts an amazing slo-mo-dance. CANNIBAL INK “Bring the Funk To The Punk” with an electro-funky breakbeat, a lot of atmosphere and kicking hihats, PAND3LESCU decides to put drama and phatness first and adds a cool Western guitar to the cosmic feel of his mix – what a set of remixes!
On top, Tulioxi delivers a second fantastic cosmic Balearic disco track “Some Kind of Man” – the original is “rolling” and perfect for sipping cocktails when the sun is setting. And last but not least, this beauty gets an wonderfully smooth, spaced out & funky treatment with an amazing build-up by PIN UP CLUB!

Jennifer Touch – a name that most likely will ring various bells in the ears of those who have been monitoring the recent proceedings within the Riotvan camp. Just remember her vocal refinement of the New World EP and her (still newsworthy) contribution to the „Familiar Faces No.1“ label compilation. After a collaborative EP with Keinemusik’s own Adam Port, released on Pets Recordings, her time has come for an ultimate declaration of independence.

You may consider „Feeling C“ a mini-album, if you will. A five tracker rounded out with a digital only bonus called „It To Come“. A body of work coming at you like long lost gems dropping off a pile of dust covered tapes recorded in the 80ies. Touch is far from copycatting, though. We are all aware of an ongoing cultural nostalgia, an ubiquitous vintage mush that’s produced by every second kid in possession of some synth plugins and a worn out copy of “Speak and Spell” courtesy of its older sister. You won’t have to spoon it out in this very case. Jennifer Touch’s comprehension of the 80s is way more empathic, not interested in mere sound-mimicry but all the more devoted to the faithful studies of this receding sound era.

That’s already blatantly obvious within the opener „Feeling C“. Flitting synths combined with raw EBM bounce and Touch’s signature vocal performance haunting itself in the echoes of a ripped open delay. The following „Sell“ dips in depths of bass before it hurdles the low pass filter and evokes hints of past guilty pleasures in its prominent hook. Let's say: early Human League meets Valerie Dore. Then, in „Elec“, there’s this sweet  Q Lazarus vibe going on, panning out in a wide, almost instrumental enactment. A track to which (in order to stick to the reference) Buffalo Bill would gladly clamp his doodle between the legs and dance in front of a mirror. „Wordless“ is more of an interplay between spoken word insertions and flashing melodies, shaped to be the coldest of those floor hitters. Finally, the determining „No One“ is aiming for expansion with layers of vocal- and synth-tracks that add up to an almost ecstatic, dreamlike erosion of anything contemporary.

Spring 2016 saw the release of Stimming’s fourth full length album “Alpe Lusia”, which was named after a remote little alpine hut in northern Italy, in which he had secluded himself to work on his LP for a full month, all by himself. From the title track of his LP emanates his following release on Diynamic, the Alpe Lusia Remixes, and the remixing protagonists are none other than Robag Wruhme, long time collaborateurs Acid Pauli & NU and last but not least Solomun.

First off is Pampa mainstay Robag Wruhme, whose take on Stimming’s “Alpe Lusia” starts off as a dark and brooding tech house gem. Later, when you have made your way through its rough outer shell, peeling off the hard claps, it shows its soft core, with gentle pads caressing the arrangement.

Acid Pauli & NU deliver a deep and driving, almost haunting reinterpretation of “Alpe Lusia", with a thumping bass and ethereal vocals that are hypnotizing.

Finally, Solomun adds a remix that reminds you of the rabbit hole in Alice's Wonderland: the longer you dig, the deeper you get, and the more fantastic is what you experienece.

The original version is the only track on the album without a real groove, which is why Stimming chose precisely this track to be remixed - to see what the others would do about that. Now it is fair to say that all three remixes have succeeded at this task.

It’s half a year ago that Jonas Saalbach came up with his beautiful album “Ancient Lake“. Now we are ready to continue with this unique production and give it a new dress for the summer season. With remixes by Sébastien Léger, Britta Arnold & unders, Dahu, Philipp Kempnich and Dirty Doering & Sascha Cawa we bring ya a proper mixture of soundscapes and tight arrangements. Just enjoy this versatile remix Ep with some names we wanted to bring for sure in our family.

Respected house producer Josh Butler is back, armed with his brand new ‘Link’ EP on Edwin Oosterwal and Joris Voorn’s legendary Rejected imprint. The EP once again proves Josh’s ability to continuously deliver the kind of high quality tech-house that has entrenched him as an integral figure in the underground UK house scene.

The title track ‘Link’ stays true to Butler’s less-is-more philosophy while also showcasing his incredible sound-design and production know-how. The percussion takes centre stage as Josh brings in conga rolls, a soulful vocal refrain and lush, atmospheric pads to contribute to an inimitable groove. Two distinct mixes of the track, a melodic mix and a dub mix, are generously provided on the EP and both demonstrate the intricacies inherent in Josh’s production.

Rounding off the release is ‘Need Me’, the EP’s deeper venture that combines minimalist instrumentation centred around a grooving bassline, subtly making itself known above the driving percussion. Throughout the EP, Josh succeeds in delivering vast symphonic landscapes within the pretext of measured and characteristic instrumental restraint. Partygoers can expect to hear both sides of the EP receive serious airtime across the club circuit as the Ibiza season kicks into full swing this month.

After exceptional releases on much-respected imprints like Dixon’s Innervisions, Drumpoet Community and Mood Music, Berlin-based artist duo FRANKEY & SANDRINO brings their sophisticated, deep house sound to Kompakt with the HYDRAE EP – three new and highly versatile tracks that prove once more the perfect symbiosis of Frank Beckers’ technical know-how and Sandrino Tittel’s selector expertise from his days as resident DJ at Wuppertal’s famed Butan Club.
