London’s dynamic duo L E N K E bring you a fresh slice of electronic bliss with upcoming album Utopia, released via ARRVL on 6th September.
Rewind back to London, 2017. Lenny Raveney and Kevin Coyne meet on a night out through a mutual friend. Both already accomplished DJs and producers, the pair immediately hit it off. That very evening, they went back to Len’s and immediately started making music. Len and Kev became L E N K E.
A few months after, the pair travelled to Ibiza. Inspired by nights at Camelphat and Solomun +1 at Pacha, and Afterlife at Privilege, L E N K E’s trademark sound started to come together in a melting pot of House, Techno and Breaks. The rest is history. 2023’s Solise saw support from Paul Van Dyk and was featured in six different Beatport Top 10 Charts. The pair have shared lineups with DJs such as Danny Howard, Markus Schulz, W&W, and Judge Jules.
L E N K E feel they have now reached a musical Utopia, their sound being crafted and perfected into a truly exquisite album inspired by artists like Artbat, Bookashade, 8Kays, Massano, Space Motion.
The end of 2024 looks bright for L E N K E as the buzz grows and grows around them, the album promo receiving incredible feedback from Joris Voorn, Maceo Plex, Richie Hawtin, Nolan, Just Her, Luke Garcia, John 00 Flemming, and Graham Gold, to name a few.

Having had a remarkable start to 2016 with self aclaimed ‘Illicit Behaviour’ EP, Hot creations & Paradise pacesetter - Jamie Jones - serves up his latest instalment via the Emerald City imprint.

Leading track ‘Land Of The Giants’ flows into rich orchestral elements, followed up by prominent electronic wobbles before switching the pace - implementing a complex instrumental structure from the get go. Collaborating with Hero Twins (Timothy D Jones – brother to Jamie – and Tarhan Ozkan) for the release, they introduce faint, haunting vocals, paired with a low rolling and distorted bassline to create an underground masterpiece.

In contrast to the title release, ‘The Shoplifter’ focuses solely on the electronic layers weaving throughout the record. The stripped back instrumental resonates a thumping bassline in turn with reverberating bleeps and a murmuring female vocal hook. The breakdown lends its ear to fierce, punchy orchestral chords before signing things off with echoing percussion – transcending Jamie’s ‘Lands Of The Giants’ EP as one of his most experimental workings yet.

It’s a long time since we last heard from dOP. The boys have been far from quiet, continuing to tour and enchant party people across the world with their infectious fusion of house music and refined songwriting. They’ve equally been no strangers to the studio, with their Les Fils Du Calvaire project releasing the recent Rester Avec Toi collaboration with Miss Kittin in preparation for the debut album of the project later this year. Equally their production talents have been felt in the recent Aquarius Heaven EP Bato Chargé, and vocalist JAW was recently spotted kicking off the Circus Company Limited series with “Traitor Creator”, his collaboration with Piers Faccini. Finally though the time has come for dOP to return to the record in their original form with a new four track EP that perfectly captures where the trio of Damien, Clement and JAW are at right now.

The sound on Email From A Beetle is a full-fat, club ready confection that distills the live energy of dOP into four varied but equally ear-snagging tracks that simply demand your attention. The title track in some ways harks back to the introspection of their earlier material, keeping the rhythmic elements sparse and simmering to lend ample space to JAW’s captivating vocal line, but there’s still plenty of space for Damien’s expressive keys to cut through as the song peaks.

“Melancholia” is, as the name suggests, a more reflective piece with a gentle swing and emotive melodic lines, but there’s plenty more fun times to be had as well as the infectious house bump of “Foreplay” takes hold with a hard-skipping beat and rock solid bass line. If there was any doubt that warm, rounded analogue sounds power dOP these days, “Summer Rain” is on hand with its shocking stabs of dazzling synth capturing a feverish mood that calls out to the impending sunny months of the year.

Always a group committed to moving forward with their sound, this EP serves as an exciting next step for dOP while retaining the compositional flair and addictive energy that has kept them close to our hearts all these years.

Russian up and comers JCMB & D-MICE are making their first appearance on the label with a jacking four-tracker named “My House”.  

With recent releases on labels such as Nite Grooves already making moves, the duo are stepping up their game with a fine selection of bouncy house and tech-house grooves, garnished with rolling kicks and enormous basslines. Tweaked out vocal snippets add a smooth Chicago inspired old school vibe to these cutting edge productions. A little roughness keeps things funky and consistently fun.
