We've been waiting patiently to present Sam Davies' debut Silk Music release for some time now, as a pair of tracks by the Toronto-based talent was previewed on our "Silk Royal Showcase 05" compilation, back in September 2015. These two uplifting cuts, "Sunbound" and "Unwind", are now joined by "Cosmos", an equally memorable offering. From uplifting progressive to after-hours chillout, Sam's extraordinary 3-track EP offers a flavor for all tastes.

The release kicks off with "Sunbound", a peak-hour melodic progressive gem, in the "classical" tradition of the genre. Specifically, an uplifting chord sequence is joined by radiant pads and an inspiring vocal motif. The track continues to crescendo toward the breakdown, where we are treated to a stripped down piano and vocal solo. After a short progressive breaks interlude, the climactic drop leaves the listener in a state of rapture.

The subsequent cut, "Cosmos", features a deep and dark bassline groove, as well as a variety of deep, evocative, and occasionally otherworldly melodic themes. Ethereal pads and an exceeding beautiful, world music-inspired vocal highlight the unforgettable breakdown.

Finally, "Unwind", which served as Tom Fall's intro to his "Silk Royal Showcase 05" mix, returns the listener to the Balearic vibes that are established in "Sunbound". However, rather than closing out the EP with a 4/4 dance track, Sam treats us to a mellifluous, sun-kissed chillstep masterpiece. Heavenly pads and gorgeous piano themes play prominently in this relaxing and life-affirming tune.

For this milestone release we have a stunning EP from none other than progressive mastermind Alex H. After a couple collaborative efforts and a single on our seasonal compilation, he returns on Synth with a scorcher solo three-tracker that will delight the community and further establish his name amongst the greats. Having graced the scene since 2012, the Zimbabwean born artist has left his mark on the progressive world with his unique sound, the rolling arpeggios, the syncopated chord progressions, the danceable basslines and the euphoric melodies. Always pushing the envelope, the new 'Elysian Visions' EP is , sonically, everything Alex has built up as his trademark style and more, the sun-drenched atmosphere and top-down cruising vibes.

For our 50th release here at Textures, we are delighted to welcome two of our favourite artists: the Ukrainian brothers Dima and Roman Prus, who together form Prus Control.

Round 2 of our seasonal compilation, Celestial Spring, comes out of hibernation to spread melodic motifs and paint textured atmospheres. Discognition lays the groundwork, or sets the table rather, for melodic springtime cuisine. Listener’s experience euphoria as they dine on a full course of sunshine. After a bit of sunshine, why not take a gander outside and frolic in the “Morning Dew,” a beautifully arranged track with a tint of breakbeat in the reflective sparkle. “The Way We Were” is not the way we are today with the pandemic, but Joe Schaeffer and Mark Digital certainly know how to forge an uplifting remedy. Numedian may have a secret apprenticeship with Sunlounger the way his Balearic chords are arranged. Let’s rewind back to the summer of ‘89 with Martin Zeidner’s no-less-than-awesome retro-bution to that 80s synthwave era. “Tomorrow” never dies as long as we continue to uphold “progress” in EDM. Shatadru Sensharma pairs up with Weiyu Shen in this supersonic soundwave. The afterparty continues at “4 A.M.” at la casa de Castiello, a new and debuting artist on our imprint. Numb your body with these fantastic progressive beats. Andrew GG’s “Shortcut to Paradise'' dives headfirst into the festive embrace of spring, elements of trance x2 reverberating from its throttle.

“Progression” is just what the title says, a journey of sounds that is evolving throughout the production. It’s wrapped up with melodic structures and textures to make this a complete journey from start to finish. 

“Emerald Ocean” is a warm, sun drenched melodic gem, taking us through a great seasoning about what progressive is all about for us. It’s rich in energy, melodic layers and feel good vibes that makes us “go away” for a while and just connect to the music.
