Brady's Place

In the heavens above. Feat. Lioness Pinky🦁

The original track comes from my esteemed colleague Markus Vogt (aka Klangbiotop), whom I only recently got to know through my professional activities. The track "Bar der verlorenen Seelen" of his "Nachtstücke-EP" inspired me immediately and so with his agreement this second remix track of his project Klangbiotop was created in a short time.
As a result, from a musical point of view, my track became something more than a remix, as the elements of the original tempted me to rework it. In the foreground was the initially incomplete harmony of the sub-bass, which I expanded to a complete harmony. Then came the basslines, the pads and the super-saw sound, which were then framed by a new melody. From the original song, percussion loops, snare and many of the vocal elements were placed in the arrangement. At the same time, the arrangement was shortened to further increase the appeal of the song by making it more compact.

Der Original-Track stammt von meinem geschätzten Kollegen Markus Vogt (aka Klangbiotop), den ich erst vor kurzem über meine berufliche Tätigkeit kennengelernt habe. Der Track „Bar der verlorenen Seelen“ seiner „Nachtstücke-EP“ hat mich sofort inspiriert und so entstand mit seinem Einverständnis in kurzer Zeit dieser zweite Remix-Track von seinem Projekt Klangbiotop.
Im Ergebnis ist aus musikalischer Sicht mein Track etwas mehr als ein Remix geworden, da die Elementes des Originals mich zu einem Rework verleitet haben. Vordergrund standen dabei die zunächst unvollständige Harmonie des Sub-Bass die ich zu eine vollständigen Harmonie erweitert habe. Anschließend kamen die Basslines, die Flächen und der Super-Saw Sound, die dann von einer neuen Melodie umrahmt wurden. Vom Original wurden Percussion-Loops, Snare und viele der Vocal Elemente im Arrangement platziert. Gleichzeitig wurde das Arrangement gekürzt, um durch mehr Kompaktheit die Attraktivität des Songs weiter zu erhöhen.

The winged demons and the ragged angels will rejoice and kiss my aethereal feet. 
The tides will cover the sand of our imagination, green and everlasting and salty and cold.

What Have I To Say

This piece was created as a reminder of how many of us loose sight of the hopes, dreams... the lives we envisioned for our future selves, as children. 

This piece is a reminder... admittedly, we could have had our dreams and goals jaded or dashed by "the realities of life" or by those within our lives who chose to "program us" with their severely antiquated, entrained thinking and mindsets of what happiness, true joy, and success "should, could, or would" mean... if ONLY we would "do as they say" or "pay them to teach us how to fit into THIER boxes." (They'll later change those boxes... as soon as we fit into them, of course!) But, at some point, we can realize the error of our living into those "entrained people-pleasing ways," and acknowledge we still can take the steps to live into the hopes, dreams, and goals that always innately spoke to us as children... and continue to speak to us, if we are willing to BE quiet and still enough to listen to the voice within that was silenced so long ago. The voice that continues to be told (by the unenlightened, by those still living into their very well-trained "we must look, act, speak, and conduct ourselves in the manner we were trained to conform always... and never, ever question or deviate from the 'sanctioned ways...'") to sit down and shut up... because it ruffles the feathers of those who've been trained to keep their wings bound and unfurled... to NEVER fly free and above the "permitted boundaries" to potentially see the most BEautiful views of the world below. 

The time we have to live is never guaranteed... tick... tock... tick... ding... dong... ding. Are we going to continue to wait for others who restricted their own living for the sake of DOing to HAVE only what was PERMITTED... who "in the end" give it all back to those ten percenters who conned them into working in physically, emotionally, or spiritually toxic environments, denied access to them, etc... to "give their permission" or approval to us... or are we willing to sing out "ENOUGH..." as we awaken that little voice within us and forge a different, more inclusive, expansive, healthier mindset and path forward? I/we say... "Never again will we BE silenced by those who chose to live and cower in fear, who've accepted 'what is dictated or only options freely and easily provided must be true' vs OUR inquisitive, continuously learning and growing mindset!" Let your Inner Child PLAY!

Jon shared “Monkey Parts” with me while we were discussing an unreleased track we were working on. Jon’s original track instantly inspired me and the lyrics easily flowed onto the paper (actually I write all my lyrics in Apple Notes, lol) and then into GarageBand (using my Apple headphone mic to everyone who mixes my vocals exasperation). I held onto the unmixed track for a while (really for no good reason besides it wasn’t in the stars’ plan until now) and then finally worked up the urge to “git er done.” 

As for the lyrics, the last time I had anything weed related was probably 11 years ago in California. At that time, all things marijuana were relatively easy to acquire since many of my friends had “doctor’s notes” to go to the medical dispensaries. It was fun to try all the new novel dope products people were making and selling. Since living in Oregon, for over 6 years now, I have not once thought about partaking in the herb, even though I can easily walk to several cannabis stores from my home. I think there are more pot stores in the Portland area than convenient stores, I do not live in a reefer desert, lol. But still, I was inspired to write a song about maryjane.

Purple Microdot - The Allure / IPG1 Collaboration / See the description! Enjoy! 💣❤️️✌️

Hey… so what are Vintage Bone: B-Sides? They are older songs and little ditties that got lost in my growing pile of recordings. This winter, I have been going through my catalog, pulling out a couple songs, here and there, and creating a new pile called Vintage Bone. Most needed some remixing and production adjustments. Some are first take versions of songs I like to re-record often. Ever notice that sometimes first versions seem to be the best, even if a redo is compositionally better? With this song, ‘There You Are’ from 2015, I noticed the vocals were ruined by plosives, hissing and distortion. (Nope, I do not have a pop filter -yet-. Haha.) There was way too much compression and reverb, and I overdid the EQ… all of which seemed to dull the song's natural character, so I made some adjustments and rerecorded the guitar solos. Sure, it’s just GarageBand, so please, cut me some slack. Thanks. Yes, sometimes I’d rather live in my dreams, with all my favorite ice creams. Most of us spend a third of our lives sleeping and dreaming. I dream like an old dog now. The symbolism and metaphors are wildly revealing. The vast dream world, of the places I go, and people I meet, is filled with extraordinary things. Sometimes there are dangerous situations filled with scary moments. I can fly, sometimes I encounter supernatural beings, but often I have recurring dreams where the places and people are familiar to me. Once in April, I dreamt about a mentor I had as a kid, who died. I woke up crying. I did not know he had passed, and thought he was still alive so I sent him a letter. Months passed, and I forgot about it. Then I received a letter from his wife. She was gracious and said she received my letter in the same month that her husband, my mentor, had passed away years ago. She said April’s were always difficult for her, and the letter was a godsend. In the letter, I had mentioned to my mentor how thankful I was that he was a part of my life as a kid. A bright spot as it were. She said no one ever mentioned that to him before, and thanked me many times. It was that dream that convinced me to pay attention to dreams. I have written over a hundred pages of dream experiences, and hopefully one day before I go, hee-hee…. I will write a book about those dreams. But for now, I have some snow shoveling to do. By means of some weather sounds, I oppose precise dark parts to more colored ones, with serious work till 3:25 when I had fun jamming, so you can skip to 4:20 & enjoy great outro !!

Clarinet was borrowed from my sister for summer practice. Reed & keywork managing is difficult for a beginner, & home cohabitance was set on serious risk, but with painful effort I got something presentable, or so I hope, as not willing to repeat soon...
