It's quite mysterious why some things seem obvious to our understanding. I guess that worms and insects may have a totally different perception of what is obvious. And, as we learn to see, the set of what seems obvious to our minds may also evolve. And we may even be obviously wrong...

== LEARNING TO SEE ==

No, light does not lie.
Light is truth, by definition,
and photons never lie.
But lone photons say nothing at all.
When Hubble tapped the dark sky
it sensed photons one by one,
slowly generating the image
of a deep field immensity.
And some saw galaxies there,
because they had learned to see.
They saw galaxies in all those bright dots on that dark photograph.
That was obvious to them, yet not for me.
And I trust them. 
What else can I do?
I know how often I'm blind to what I'm looking at.

Right now,
I look at you in this quiet evening, 
wondering how much we learned to see.

Story
Biloko – A Legend of the Congo
Deep within the Ituri Forest, where light barely dares to penetrate and the trees whisper in ancient tongues, dwell the Biloko guardian spirits of the jungle, grotesque and powerful, born from the very soul of the earth.
They say they were once human, hunters who betrayed the forest out of greed. The jungle, wounded by their ambition, transformed them into eternal guardians: their bodies twisted, their eyes sunken, and their mouths filled with songs that only animals understand. Since then, the Biloko have watched over the natural treasures the flowers that heal, the trees that sing, the rivers that dream.
One day, a young man named Moke arrived in the forest, guided by tales of gold hidden beneath the roots of an ancient baobab tree. He ignored the elders' warnings, defied the rituals of respect, and ventured in alone, his heart filled with longing.
The forest received him in silence.
For three days, Moke wandered without finding anything. But on the fourth, he heard a strange melody, as if the wind were weeping. Following the sound, he reached the baobab tree. There, the Biloko awaited him. They did not attack him. They did not speak. They only gazed at him, and the entire forest went dark.
When Moke awoke, he was outside the forest. His body was unharmed, but his voice was gone. Since then, he wanders the villages, mute, his eyes filled with the jungle. No one knows what he saw. No one knows what he lost.
