Cellist Emily Burridge has had a long association with my earlier collaborator BJ Cole, so it was nice to get to work together over the lockdown period. I play my Bergerault bass marimba (the lowest notes are in the middle sections) and Emily plays her electric cello and did all the fiddly balance stuff! This is a suite of eight short sections; the individual pieces are, in order, Wychwood, Mirkwood, Birdwood, Driftwood, Wormwood, Underwood, Heartwood and Greenwood. The image is a painting of our birchwood by my wife, Catherine Rickman.

I composed this track for the album "Iron Poetry" by Really Slow Motion.
This track was licensed for the "MALEFICENT" trailer movie campaign. 
It was also recently included in a compilation by Epic Music Vn as one of the best top 30 epic tracks of 2014.
