Born in the East Village in 2011 Village Psychic began as a side project of musician / producer Will Broussard (Terror Dactel & The Death Set.) The moniker was inspired by the vivid neon sign of a clairvoyant around the corner of his (at that time) East Village Apt. The aural adventure flowed from late night musings and with the help of a friend Village Psychic’s initial manifestation took form in music-art videos, though the experiment was never really meant to go anywhere. Written with pop production values, using computer based recording, the lo-fi, synthy, bleached out sounds always retained a human vibrancy and could never solely live in the studio realm. First and foremost a performer, with years of experience making dance and electronic tracks as TerrorDactel, Broussard’s affair with the addictive energy of live music was reignited when he began playing drums for The Death Set in Spring of 2012. Ideas that weren’t executed at studio sessions lead to pent up creativity and the next wave of Village Psychic material was conceived, a live band / electronic hybrid.  Lush, dancy, percussive, and groovy Village Psychic is here to bring sonic imagination to a new decibel.
