Joe's guitar work has influenced music since the mid 70’s and is going strong today. Joe delivers a very distinctive sound and stylistic diversity to his music and  is a masterful guitar improviser whose music generally falls somewhere between traditional rock & roll, progressive rock, funk edged jazz, and R & B.

Born in Melbourne, Australia and raised by Italian migrants in suburban Brunswick, Joe took up the guitar at the early age of 12 being inspired by bands such as the Beatles and Santana. He has formal classical music training and university Masters and Degree’s in both Electronics and Computing and has been able to incorporate these skills in his music by designing and utilizing effects units , amplifiers, MIDI and various other electronic gadgets in the numerous bands he has been involved in.


Joe has a long history of live performance and recording; a chronological list includes:

    1976 - 79: “The Prophets” early teenage band covering mostly the Beatles and Rolling stones performing at various functions.
    1980 - 85: “Ultra Sound” a successful corporate functions band collaborating with accomplished session musicians from Channel 9 and overseas artists performing extensively at functions around Melbourne.
    1986- 88: “Arctic Dogs” an all original band performing at various pubs and universities around Melbourne. In 1988 they released their first 3 track EP titled “Expedition Station” recorded at Metronome sound studio's in Brunswick which at the time received rave reviews from critics and audiences. A successful EP launch was followed by an extensive live tour of the band.
     1990 on-wards: collaborated with a close musician friend Marco that introduced Joe to music genres and musical ideas (still to this day) such as Progressive Rock, this was a millstone for him as it reignited and sparked a love in a diverse range of music tastes and textures! He is forever grateful to his close friend Marco and life teacher which has inspired an “open musical mind” approach.
     2000 on-wards: has collaborated with many musicians in his endeavor to play with as many like-minded people at numerous open mike jam sessions – far too many to mention. 
    2012: formed a 3 piece band “Cerberus” with friend Marco performing covers and originals at various pubs around Melbourne.
    2013: joined singer/songwriter Regin Le Faye www.reginlefaye.com/ The live band consisted of Bass player Peeter Foot and Drummer Phill Rodgers playing live venues around Melbourne performing her CD of original songs "Feel The Love".  
    2014: formed a 7 piece big band “Mainstreet” http://jgigliott2.wix.com/mainstreet-1 with other professional musicians performing Jazz and Blues covers at various venues and festivals around Melbourne.
    2015: formed a 5 piece band “Sonic Road” performing dance covers from the 6o's to modern day at various venues around Melbourne.


Joe's love of music includes, The Beatles, Santana, Lee Ritenour, Aragon, Pendragon, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Tangerine Dream and numerous others.
