I played around on the piano in the living room. Further I added some crispy percussion, digitakt textures, and a bit of smooth synth sounds, and lastly my voice recorded at 192kHz then stretched to fit a 44.1kHz project to get that super slow low tone at high quality. enjoy :D

Anomie

This is an old Fuzzy Grubb song, the first one we wrote, and in our first practice.  Feels like home playing this one.  I miss those days, those nights, and the people who filled them.  Hope you enjoy it.  This song is for you all (you know who you are!)

This Night 

Verse 1: 

It just felt right.  It came on the air that night.  My eyes closed and I opened my arms. 

I smiled so wide, that pain brought a tear to my eye, and my dreams danced in the sky with the stars. 

Chorus:  

I don’t know what I feel anymore.  Not quite as empty as I was before 

Everything was right, uh huh, on this perfect night. 

Verse 2: 

Surrounded by friends.  Laughs that stirred up the past.  Campfire songs carry us into the night. 

A haze of beer and memories.  I felt something stir deep inside of me. 

One by one we all drifted to sleep.

This Night

🧠 “Coming To” is a song about reclaiming identity after surviving the storm of psychosis. I wrote it as a way to process the surreal, painful, and often isolating experience of recovery — when the mind feels foreign, and familiar faces feel far away.

Each verse is a reflection on grief, loss, and healing — from decoding fractured thoughts to finding grace in the wreckage. This isn’t just about illness; it’s about resilience. About waking up in pieces and still choosing to rebuild.

If you’ve ever felt like your world cracked open and you had to learn how to live again — this is for you.

Pt 10: Coming To

I first came across this song during Covid, having just moved to London from New Zealand. Much of the sentiment of the song struck a chord as being particularly relevant at the time. 

Post Covid, it became the first song I ever performed live with just me and my guitar. 

The picture for this song was taken at a popular London tourist spot, during one of my many rambles through my neighbourhood in the peak of lockdown.
