Calculated Yearning is an immersive ambient composition built on emotional tension and precise control. A slow, melancholic melody unfolds with warmth and longing, while a carefully engineered electronic structure guides every movement with intention. Delicate synthesizer tones echo through a spacious sound field, supported by subtle bass layers that add depth without weight. Unexpected harmonic shifts and restrained rhythmic pulses create a hypnotic flow, drawing the listener deeper into a state of focused calm. The music balances sorrow and elegance, emotion and calculation, allowing both to coexist without resolution. This quiet contradiction invites surrender, as the listener drifts between feeling and thought, intuition and design. Calculated Yearning offers a refined meditative experience for attentive listening, where longing becomes structured, and calm is shaped through deliberate motion.

Moog Grandmother, through two series instances of ValhallaDelay. The first instance is creating an 8 bar delay loop, while the second instance is a 4 bar reverse delay that is shifted up by a 5th.

Juni Habel - Demons

Commissioned by X4 Percussion Quartet: SHELL was inspired by the work of photojournalist Seph Lawless who has traveled across the United States capturing images of abandoned shopping malls. There’s a certain feeling evoked from places that should be full of people but are now empty and decaying. Before online shopping, these were vibrant communal places, now the emptiness is amplified.
