Shock The Monkey (Origin Remix)

Meta_ is Mariana Bragada, a singer, composer, and producer from the region of Trás-os-Montes in Northern Portugal. Her debut album, XIV - A Integração, is intimate and organic, with deeply emotive vocals and acoustic instrumentation, yet at the same time heavily features electronic production with deep bass and atmospheric soundscapes. She brings together elements of organic downtempo and trip-hop with ancestral wisdom and yearning vocals that express her hardships and fantasies while reflecting her Portuguese roots. 

XIV- A Integração is the sonic journey of Meta_, born in Trás-os-Montes Portugal, from her roots to South America. 
In 2019 she traveled to Pucallpa, Peru, where she had the opportunity and honor to connect with the Ayahuasca medicine plant and be in the presence of a family of Maestros and Maestras from the Shipibo tribe. Coincidentally, in the following 2 weeks, she performed Live Sound Design for Theatre shows of UmColetivo in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and Montevideo, Uruguay. 
This album is Meta_'s ode to Mother Earth and the human experience, highlighting the symbiosis of organic sound with electronics, tied together with her unique voice. 
Emotions, visions and lyrics are expressed in 3 languages ​​- Portuguese, Spanish and English. It is in this complementarity that a unique sonic universe is created, born of Portuguese ancestry united with the internal and external journeys of Meta_ across the world. 
The songs were written, composed and sung by Meta_ with 2 international collaborations - Labaq (Brazil) and Bom Beijo (Sweden) and percussionist Manu Idhra (PT). Meta_ produced the album, with Bom Beijo jointly producing 7 songs. 
This is the space for integrating Meta_'s life lessons. Beyond duality, this album is based on the colorful, intimate and empowering spectrum of revealing yourself to the world, just as you are, with fears, dreams, pain and love. It’s about death, about life, about being here. 
It was in South America that Meta_ was born again and, so far from the land where she lives, she felt at home. It is with this journey and its alchemy manifested in the album, that the common and cross-border value that music has of union, ancestry and healing is visibly awakened.

🌹💃🏼 The Bloomurian ReVibe (Remix) of Temple Body Affirmation by Sofiah Thom & DTO ft. Govinda on Violin 🎻 is a song for self-love, inner-strength, and reclaiming the sacredness that you embody.

📖 Here's my side of the story: I had been in conversation with DTO for a while about collaborating on music together, and we finally met in person a few years ago at Lucidity festival. We passed a few ideas back and forth but nothing stuck as we both had a lot of other projects we were working on.

⏩ Then, I was part of Ruby Chase's Resonance Cocoon 🦋 online, where the creative juices were flowing and songs were emerging. Sofiah Thom announced that she was working on a song that she would love to be remixed. I was the first to respond, at this point just intuitively, as I hadn't even heard the song yet!

⏩ Fast forward to Envision Festival in Costa Rica 🏝️ where I was working at Mundo De Luz, and happened to be on shift when Sofiah Thom was debuting her song Temple Affirmation, with a mesmerizing team of dancers embodying the song. I was able to fully experience the essence, energy, and full expression of this song, and immediately was filled with ideas of how I would remix this song. Having just performed on one of the most packed dance floors of my life  a few nights before (the very same dance floor that Sofiah was performing on), I was able to hear what I could add to this song to bring the dance floor to life, fusing rhythm and bass, rises and drops, with the gorgeous tapestry and meaningful affirmations from Sofiah's song.

⏩ Fast forward once again, Sofiah, DTO and I began a group chat in March 🌱 to seed this ReVibe, and now, 9 months later, this little song has bloomed 🌸 into the world!

I was honored to have performed an all-original music set as the headlining artist at the Resolution Festival NZ in the coveted NYE time slot. The performance featured Madhu Honey on vocals and dance performance art. It was an incredible experience to share my original music with such a large and enthusiastic crowd. The energy and excitement of the festival were palpable, and I'm grateful to have been a part of it.

The setlist included a mix unreleased and released original tracks. I started with a few of my more upbeat tracks to get the crowd energized, and then transitioned into some more medicine and heart tracks to close. Madhu Honey's vocals and performance art added a beautiful and unique element to the performance, and I'm so grateful to have had her on stage with me.

The crowd was incredibly receptive and supportive, and I could tell that they were enjoying the music. It was an amazing feeling to be able to connect with so many people through my music. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to perform at Resolution Festival NZ, and I'm sure they will have us back next year.

LostinSound.org is excited to premiere the @DevinKroesmusic X @ResonantLanguage collaboration "Misty Peaks" from the forthcoming @chillagerecords compilation album Crunksauce Vol. 5  which features 20 different producers' creations covering a diverse range of genres, including artists such as Wu Wei, The Digital Connection, Spoken Bird, Secret Recipe and more. 

"Misty Peaks" is reminiscent of an early Emancipator production, but with a full dose of trip-and-drip-hop. Devin Kroes' reverberating acoustic guitar swirls in and around psy-breaks built by Colorado's Resonant Language.  The result is something beautifully cinematic and gripping that pours out slowly from the speaker. 

Chillage has been supporting the releases of west coast bass musicians for a number of years, and this fifth installment of their Crunksauce series was the first time they opened submissions to the public. Tunes from established producers and a handful of fresh faces fill the 19 track release. Chillage is releasing three tracks each week in various outlets before the March 29 official release date.
