I have to say something about this song.

As always, I mix my songs while I'm still producing them. This is an elementary part of the creative process for me. Once everything is arranged, I start on the final mix, which then leads to a reasonably good mastering at best.

This was also the case with “D”. But this time, unfortunately, things went a little differently. I was in the final mix and every time I loaded the song back into my DAW, I noticed something different: the hi-hats are too loud, the kick has too much bass, the bass pad is booming too much, the bells are fighting with the pluck sounds for their place in the frequency band, the pads are too quiet, the pads are too loud etc..

So I kept going back to the production level, changing sounds there, adding new ones, making things a little quieter here, a little louder there and then ending up back in mixing. Only to realize that something was bothering me again. I listened to the song on my phone, in my car, on my stereo in the living room, on headphones and so on. And each time I found a different problem.

After about 30 versions of this song and two weeks of mixing, I decided to release it today, because honestly, I was starting to hate the song - and I didn't want to.

I think the song is quite listenable as it is now. I hope you like it too.
