Our next release explores the combination of sounds that have previously been rather unusual for our label. Outstanding Italian artist Chromosphere takes us on a journey through emotional dreamworlds on his debut on Facetten called “Traces“. The release consists of three timeless gems that combine elements of electronic music with organic instrumental skills, characteristic field recordings, and passages of jazz, funk, krautrock and more.
Starting off, the title track “Traces“ does not only perfectly serve its purpose as an opening track for the EP, but also works as a portal to the melodic world Chromosphere carefully creates. Strings and Synths lead the way into this world until a recorded drumkit sets the tempo with some snare whirls, evolving into a jazzy drum sequence. One haunting melodic element after the other, they all melt together to a cohesive jam.
Next up on the EP is “Raindance” which starts with cinematic field recordings of different vocals and rain. When the chords emerge, and the drums start to play, vocals commence to carry the listener into a very intimate breakdown, right before the explosive drop. As the drums kick back in, and the vocal shots fuse together with the rest of the melodic elements, the thereby established synthesis constitutes the most intense moment of this release. 
Ultimately, the release ends with “Eterea“, the third and final song of the EP. The track carries a similarly passionate and warm vibe whilst being the only beatless piece of the EP: a repetitive synth sequence plays, and a lead tells the story of this track. And for patient listeners, there might be even more to explore…

Argentinian Abuks remix of "Eye Of The Beholder" is a more eclectic and modern version playing with different synth and effect domains. The also argentinians LMOE created their original version of Rarest Flower and fused it with elements of old drum machines and acid synthesizers having a clear influence of music from previous years. A complete work with different points of view that will please the most demanding ears.

One of the TAU family’s prodigious talents, Upercent, returns for a four-track expedition into the creative expanse of his brilliant mind. Upercent’s unique sound, blending organic with synthetic and unorthodox effects, has captivated dance floors around the world.

The EP opens with ‘Tranqui Tronco’, a nifty roller driven by dense percussion. A repeated vocal motif appears as the intro guides the listener into the first breakdown. Upercent’s use of unusual sounds and effects demonstrate his unmistakable sonic fingerprint, as the cut increases in vibrancy. Another breakdown raises the temperature even higher and the track rolls out with the same contagious, driving rhythm.

‘Nuquelar’ follows, with a deep tribal rhythm oscillating at its core. As we dive head first into this cut, hefty drums and a range of urgent chimes and instrumental licks add depth. Warped vocals are also looped into the fold, creating a cacophony of odd sounds as Upercent carefully builds the tension with a huge breakdown. The energetic release brings us back down to Earth with the persistent rumble of booming drums taking the track to its conclusion.

The penultimate cut is ‘Tempesta’, another dark and dense composition. Upercent’s talent for keeping it simple yet engaging, and just that little bit different, is evident here from the very start. This cut’s dramatic narrative keeps you locked in, as the percussion especially plays out a captivating story. A moment of peaceful reflection is injected at the midpoint, before we’re immersed in sonic theatrics once more. Moody drums and solemn bass giving this one its gloomy atmosphere.

Finally, ‘Ruta’ closes the EP with its insistent energy. In typical Upercent style, this cut develops in a considered manner with layers of sound building steadily, cultivating a sinister atmosphere. The voice of a maniacal character enters the fray halfway through, accentuating the unsettling vibes. An ominous tone pervades throughout, leaving the listener fully immersed in the dark side as the EP comes to an end...

The opening of this new chapter reflects the elements that Remcord loves in his productions. It starts with a diligent groove built around short tones with a strong personality, which will act on your body and in your head. Once that's established, once the foundations are laid, it's time for him to deliver a line on his favorite synthesizer and take us along for the ride. 

Grazed Back' calls on the same fundamentals, but here the soaring strings are part of the mix. A solar composition built in a dub universe. Always present in his music, here we recognize the influences of magic grass. 

High Society' closes this EP, which sounds like a declaration of love to this dub energy. Here, the message is more intimate and personal, encouraging us to reconnect with what's essential. 

As usual a lot of love and a bit of grass was used into the musical process.
